Time actually existed before the Big Bang, according to new theory

The Big Bang wasn't the start of time, it was just a transition.

One of the most baffling aspects of the Big Bang theory is figuring out how to explain what happened "before" time and space began. The language itself is awkward. How does it make sense to even refer to a time "before" time itself existed?

Physics is of no help either. Our scientific theories are no better at explaining what happens when all of existence is crunched into an infinitely dense point, known as a singularity, where time and space cease to exist, which is what our Big Bang theories suggest must have been the case prior to the bang.

Reminds me of this:

“One of the major problems encountered in time travel is not that of becoming your own father or mother. There is no problem in becoming your own father or mother that a broad-minded and well-adjusted family can't cope with...

The major problem is simply one of grammar, and the main work to consult in this matter is Dr. Dan Streetmentioner's Time Traveler's Handbook of 1001 Tense Formations. It will tell you, for instance, how to describe something that was about to happen to you in the past before you avoided it by time-jumping forward two days in order to avoid it...

It is built on the fragmented remains of an eventually ruined planet which is (wioll haven be) enclosed in a vast time bubble and projected forward in time to the precise moment of the End of the Universe.

This is, many would say, impossible.

In it, guests take (willan on-take) their places at table and eat (willan on eat) sumptuous meals while watching (willing watchen) the whole of creation explode around them.

This, many would say, is equally impossible.

You can arrive (mayan arrivan on-when) for any sitting you like without prior (late fore-when) reservation because you can book retrospectively, as it were, when you return to your own time (you can have on-book haventa forewhen presooning returningwenta retrohome).

This is, many would now insist, absolutely impossible.

At the Restaurant you can meet and dine with (mayan meetan con with dinan on when) a fascinating cross-section of the entire population of space and time.

This, it can be explained patiently, is also impossible.

You can visit it as many times as you like (mayan on-visit re onvisiting ... and so on – for further tense correction consult Dr. Streetmentioner's book) and be sure of never meeting yourself, because of the embarrassment this usually causes.”

After reading about butterfly effect, mandela effect, simulated Universe/ Digi-universe theory etc?

I can tell you for me, if it were a digital simulated universe that would explain a lot of stuff, the missing link, ghosts and a lot of supernatural" stuff that happens, and changes people are experiencing (like to Berenstein bear books/ Bible/ company logo changes, songs changing etc.

No way to prove it, may not Be proof for who knows a 1,000 yrs, but it is very intriguing. If Cosmos was digital, like we humans are watching a movie in our heads or something and we the actors of it, so to speak, and some original Supreme" Source Energy Lifeforce that powers all, I ponder stuff like that, sorry if that sounds insane? then I apologize profusely. I ponder what if the big bang" was the big "plug-in" or something or when switch was flipped "on", lol.

I always put such things down to the universe actually being multiverses that intertwine, which would explain crazily coincidental events, strange manifestations, deja vu, etc. because of the cross over.

Some people think UFOs are actually 4 dimensional manifestations into our 3 dimensional space.

Even more weirdly, time as we think of it is a human construct, though necessary for us to function'normally" , we couldn't just tell employees oh, just show up whenever.

but we use our construct of time to make sense of things. On a way broader perspective, the Cosmos

has a whole other thing going on.

Charles Lyell stated that the start of time was beyond the reach of mortals.

One of the most amazing outcomes of Einstein’s special theory of relativity is that our familiar notion of time is fundamentally wrong. Time is flexible, stretchable and personal, so your time may be different from my time.

The reality of time is extremely bizarre and slightly disturbing. Instead of time and space being constant and universal, they are flexible and personal.

"Charles Lyell stated that the start of time was beyond the reach of mortals."

That's assuming 'if' there is a start and not just a reversal of space like the article mentioned.

"One of the most amazing outcomes of Einstein’s special theory of relativity is that our familiar notion of time is fundamentally wrong."

What I wonder is with all these new discoveries going on is if our whole notion of our place in space - basically our concept of reality - isn't inherently wrong.  All we're going on is what we can 'see' and 'measure'.  Like this recent discovery:

Blue Brain Team Discovers a Multi-Dimensional Universe in Brain Net...

"We found a world that we had never imagined,” says neuroscientist Henry Markram, director of Blue Brain Project and professor at the EPFL in Lausanne, Switzerland, “there are tens of millions of these objects even in a small speck of the brain, up through seven dimensions. In some networks, we even found structures with up to eleven dimensions.”

There's a lot more in existence than we realize simply because we can only 'see' in 3D.

I seems that theories of time are about 10 cents per dozen, give or take a few cents.

The problem I have with any interpretation of Nelson's theory is that not only Nelson, but many other speculations of time stem from a fundamental misunderstanding of what time really means, and to whom.

To ever be in a position to try to explain the beginning of time, other than the members of the human race who need time as a four dimensional guide to map out distances and times it takes to get from one linear point to another, or, for another example, in the use of algorithims, is what I would call a red herring.

So, that could be understood in that time is nothing more than a construct of the human mindset, that is used for specific mundane purposes, and has no meaning other than for those applications. What else is there in the universe that could understand a "meaningful application" of time, other than humans?

The "beginning of time" as understood in the three dimensional sense, has no inherent relevance at all. Whether the big bang theory was the start of time, or whether it was just a transition, is in itself, meaningless,

At least to me it is....as one theory of it is as good as another.

With M theory, the universe was created by the collision of two Branes, and hence the big bang. Whether time existed before seems moot?

"Whether time existed before seems moot?"

Lol - pretty much!  But it's a fun puzzle to ponder on... and then there's the question of how long our 'time' will last before something happens to it.  lol

In medieval times Evelyn time was believed to only exist on Earth and as far as the Moon, everything else outside was a part of eternity, never changing. So time will only last as long as the cosmos exists.

As you may have heard before, time, at least as we understand it, doesn't really exist at all. What exists is a relative relation between two velocities. Mathematically V is real and D is real, but when you say T = V/D you're really saying there's a relationship between V1 and V2 as V2 is measured over a constant distance. A deeper level of time exists with matter-energy seen as Memory. Since, matter-energy remembers state changes 'after' interactions, it creates time. The direction of time is the order of the remembered state changes--but in many cases you can read it backwards with identical effect. However, at a certain scale there are state changes that you can't read backwards and this fixes the order of physical time within the memory of macro-matter. Without Memory time is meaningless.

Outside the realm of matter-energy, space-like relations are expressed as Context, and time-like relations are based on the remembered order of contacts or Relationships, which may follow a different order between entities.

Check out this short video clip from a 1928 Charlie Chaplin film. There appears to be an old woman using a cell phone. Of course, this technology was not available back then. Maybe she is lost in time.
