“The Thinning of the Veil allows the Old Ones to see and talk to us, and we to them. The Celts celebrated this time as the beginning of the New Year, and so we also. Gathering together, they, and we, share stories and songs, tales of what has been, and that which will come. Candies and Sweets are given freely, just in case one might encounter a Spirit in need of propitiation.
In the Now-a- Days World, people regard Spirits and Ghosts as something scary and undesirable, a view not shared in other times, other Cultures. Through the Ages, the Dead have been treated with respect and admiration. Even now some Cultures not only respect the Dead, they take the Hallowed Bones out of the Crypt, clean and polish them, and display them for the local population during Rites and Ritual.
We ask the Spirits of Old to come to this Time and Place, to join with us in this Sacred Space.”
