The Practice of the Traditional Witch and my altar.

Traditional Witchcraft is a term used for those that wish to no longer practice Wicca or were born into the path and have practiced the craft for many years. Unlike Wicca there is no Rede but there is the belief that once you start practicing the crooked path that you take responsibility for every spell that you cast. The practices of a Traditional Witch may include Owl Blasting, Healing, Protection, helping the land and people, and many other things.

Unlike in Wicca, Traditional witches practice their craft outdoors wearing regular clothes. Traditional Witchcraft is a day in and day out practice and a practice that you shall learn and continue learning all your life. It's not something that you can learn in over three years and there is no level, or degree, system. The Sabbaths are different too though some Traditional Witches will not celebrate any. Hope this gets you curious for Traditional Witchcraft and I will be telling you more as time goes on.

My Traditional Witchcraft altar. Not the same as others but I'm working on it.

Up-close of my altar. I don't have a real human skull, or even a imitation one, the skull that you see is a Halloween decoration. I do have another skull but it's too large. The bottles that you see are my herbs that I'm using tonight.

@monkeyofstick: I'm not sure exactly what you mean by "pansy," but some authors I read for folkloric, pre-modern witchcraft are Nigel Pennington, Nigel Pearson, Claude Lecoutteux, Emma Wilby, Gemma Gary, Peter Paddon, Caitlin and John Matthews, Sarah Anne Lawless, Peter Grey, Robin Artisson, the letters of Robert Cochrane, Nigel Jackson (before he succumbed to monotheism,) Paul Huson, and Michael Howard. I don't personally care for Shani Oates, but she has some good stuff, too.

Greetings!  Grateful to find this group, thanks to a friend.  Have always been drawn to mystical arts in their various forms.  Finally exploring the call more deeply and have come full circle back to all the things that spoke to me throughout my life.  Being fairly solitary & new to the practice, it's been difficult to find a mentor & guidance, so I'm very happy to be a part of this group & our journey! :^}

I'm once again back on. My mother paid the bill for another month and so I will continue to be on.

Hay, guys, this is the group owner. Sorry about not being on, but I didn't have the net. Just got it back a couple of days ago. I'm glad that everyone is doing everything to keep this group alive and I'm thankful.

Hello everyone. This group, and many others, has been slow for awhile. Lots of good discussions tho. If y'all got good stuff to share, maybe the group will get active again.

How y'all doing? Enjoying the summer?
