"I think fox hunting is a bit of a grey area. While I do not think it right to deliberately torture or kill an animal that is not vermin, to a farmer whose livelihood depends on poultry or game-birds a fox would be vermin."

"The Laws an ass ( sorry Jack, painful pun there),and wording can allow a pervert to walk away scot free. The Death sentence `crimes` certainly covered a broad spectrum. Have no idea why the links directing you to that Jack, sorry."

"Dave, they were going to charge me with "Affray" - causing fear in neighbours. After 23 hours, in and out of cell 6 at Gravesend (Really! A town the other side of Kent county, from where I live) the C.P.S. (Crime Prosecution Service) told…"

"Karen, would you include fox hunting in that? Rumour has it that a few Hunts only pretend to follow a "paper-chase", then say it was accidental when their hounds kill a fox. Personally, I'm pleased to see the two local foxes come into…"

"I totally agree with that Karen. I think if it was to make a return, then the following categories for capital punishment should be among the first; Terrorist acts where preparation  has led to an act taking place , life being lost and people…"

"Shanty, that "record of execution" board makes interesting reading. The crimes for which a convicted felon could be executed are more varied than I imagined. I think we should reintroduce capital punishment with the addition of any person…"

"Merry meet Karen, Yes, I know just what you mean! Way back in the 19th Century, when someone stole something worth more than sixpence they could be hanged for it.  So, when Great Great Grandma Margaret picked up a lacy handkerchief, that a Lady…"

Profile Information

I attest that I am over the age of 18
Yes
Relationship Status:
Single
Age
72
Astrological Sign
Sun Scorpio, Moon Pisces, Ascendant Capricorn.
About Me:
I worked as Principal Chemist for an industrial manufacturing company - sounds bad, doesn't it? But, I made image intensifier parts for the Hubble space telescope so that we may see further, and I've made cell carriers so that tumour samples can be diagnosed and tested for the right chemotherapy without the patient having to suffer all the tests: I'm happy with that.
My retirement plans were nothing compared to what has happened after retirement!
Favorite Books
I have about two dozen of Terry Pratchett's 'Discworld' novels. They are great for 'losing yourself in'. Then there are 760+ real paper books, with my photos in three of them, and as for my Kindle? Hundreds of ebooks, mostly mysteries and classics.
Beliefs / Practices
Spiritual but not Religious
Other Beliefs/Practices
I've had some interesting experiences with Akashic rituals, and assisting with psychic investigations.
I have "A Witches' Bible", "The Koran", and "Bhagavad-Gita" sitting right here... I must get around to reading them, thoroughly.
Transcendental Meditation, and Mindfulness, are good.
Hobbies
Writing to prisoners, photography, painting (acrylics), and trying to 'kick-start' my creative writing.
Some how, Tae Kwon-Do is just a little too vigorous these days, so I'll stay with Tai Chi. That way I can still use martial arts' weapons, but very, very slowly. ;)
Heroes
Ghandi, and any under-dog who stands up to fight their corner.
And, little Brit David Haye beating giant Russian Nikolay Valuev for the world heavy weight title.
I don't like fighting, but Haye won by points, not by knock downs.
Oh, and Nelson Mandela.

I'm catching up with you in age, Jack. Perhaps I can join you in that 'terrible warning'. Be safe, be happy, be loved. But most of all--just be yourself.
