There are many things that could be put here, bit without context it means little. I am an amateur philosopher, religious scholar, collector of maps, & collector of books on religion, spirituality, metaphysics & the occult.
I'm a but of a Ham, somewhat Cheesy, with a wry sense of humor... Mmmm why do I suddenly want a sandwich? . I'm greedy, gluttonous & lustful. I'm also full of pride. So I tend to do things a bit over the top. I would be slothful, but the first three are so much work!!! Wrath is certainly there, but fairly kept in check by both my pride & the diversity of things I find pleasure in. You just don't want be around when machines aren't working properly, especially if I'm repeatedly doing the exact same thing & getting different results. Damaged machines are fine, I can work around known flaws, but when I can't predict what its going to do. Grrrrrr. As for Envy, what are you kidding? Whats there to envy? Hello didn't I just mention Pride? Well that covers the seven deadly sins. I would extol my seven heavenly virtues... but then we're not discussing virtues now are we?
Favorite quote- from Terry Pratchett's The Hogfather "And then Jack chopped down what was the world's last beanstalk, adding murder and ecological terrorism to the theft, enticement and trespass charges already mentioned, and all the giant's children didn't have a daddy any more. But he got away with it and lived happily ever after without so much as a guilty twinge about what he had done. Which proves that you can be excused just about anything if you're a hero, because no-one asks inconvenient questions. "
* blink blink * and would you like that by subject, author, Dewey Decimal or Library of Congress Classification? Seriously though, I have a lot of books and there are a lot of old series that I read before and am trying to get for my library.
I collect books, not rare expensive books, but books of religion, philosophy, folklore, mythology, anthropology, gardening, cooking, optical illusions, art, fairies, history, rites of passage, science, astrology, tarot; oh think anything that could be related to the anthropology of religion, which is about everything in one way or another.
Fiction- series, I used to read about a book a day so anything shorter then a trilogy was hardly worth picking up. Deryni, Pern, Darkover, Xanth, and many more.
Beliefs / Practices
Eccentric pantheist- Tending toward the Greco-Roman philosophers, perennial philosophy, mythology as metaphor and ritual as sacred theater.
Wandering the woodlands and mountains, playing with fire and collecting books of religion and philosophies.
Hey Marc, thanks for the add. I am looking forward to meeting you and other like minds at the Morgantown pagan pride day. I really appreciate someone getting an event together so folks like myself can get out and meet others and be inspired.
Just a fast note to say hello and seeing how you are doing. I am doing pretty good here. Will be nice when our weather gets better here however. It snowed this morning. Thank goodness it didn't stick. LOL.
