Favorite Books
I love BOOKS! There are too many to list. I mostly collect/purchase: Journals, Art/Art History, Secret Societies and Occultism, Classic Literature, Victorian Literature, Science Fiction, Science, Fantasy, Adventure, Reference books, Wicca/Paganism, Magic(k)
Beliefs / Practices
Occultist, Witch, Wiccan, Mystic, Shaman, Native American Spirituality, Druid
Other Beliefs/Practices
I am very Eclectic. My core is my mother's family teachings, beliefs, practices, and traditions that includes a lot of ancestral history, tracing our Family Tree to the Vikings and migrating into the British Isles, to the migration to America in the 1600s. These beliefs and practices have been passed down. My family has a mixture of occultism, folklore, and Christianity. At 16, I wanted a personal religion that would accept and understand all that I believed and practiced. I was led to Wicca...which in the 1980s was not so diverse nor had the mentality of "my way is the right and only true way" (which is actually against what was taught about Traditional Wicca...that we are not to claim to have the "only true way." I am very disappointed in the BTW right now.) I have been formally trained in Wicca, Native American spirituality/Shamanism, Rosicrucianism, and High Magick (Golden Dawn.)

Right now at this moment, I like the term "Practioner" and can very much identify with the concept of the "Hedge Witch."

I think I first became aware while taking Philosophy classes in college that people will emotionally disagree with someone simply because of the definition of the word being debated. There are emotional attachment to certain words that will create a reaction that contributes to the "heat" of the debate. The argument itself may not be logical, because of the emotional nature involved. There are certain various topics that trigger this emotional reaction that will cloud the judgement of others…
