A Wiccan living nearby contacted me, and over the next few days, we arranged a meet up. Everything went well, and I think he's on his way to starting a local coven that should work very well together.
I also picked up a new book to add to my small but growing collection. For a while I've been looking for a Book of Shadows in a nice hardbound format, but with nice blank parchment papers that I could use instead of my spiral bound notebook. I didn't find that, but I did find a book called The Ultimate Book of Shadows for the New Generation Solitary Witch by Silver RavenWolf.
I had looked over many books. And for someone new like myself, but not a complete noob, I wanted something that would go well beyond answering simplistic questions like "What is a Sabbat?" But also, I didn't want a book that was so advanced, that it specialised in topics and assumed you already knew everything else.
In finding this book, and browsing it's nearly 600 pages in 8x10 format, it is clearly a MONSTER. But is not to heady, but has a sense of humor and a friendly style to it.
It is also very expansive, covering virtually any and every topic of interest to the new solitary wiccan whether they have no experience or several months under their belts.
After reading more of it, I will compile a review of it and post it here. I'm excited to get started. Hopefully it will fill in gaps that I have, and open up new areas that I did not yet know about.
