All Beliefs are Welcome Here!
To fully understand this post you should know that until recently I used the name Eris Epiphanes.
Robert Anton Wilson died in 2007. Just the other day I went to see him in his office (on the "other" side) and took the elevator to the 14th floor. The secretary showed me in. Mr. Wilson and I sat down and had a nice little talk and we agreed that yes, it was a bit of a fiction. Alongside us in the room I saw a chaos magician (a big fellow) and Mr. Wilson's personal assistant, a chaos witch. Mr. Wilson excused himself for a minute and left the room. The chaos magician looked at me and said, "What are you doing here? What makes you think you can just walk in?" I looked at him and said, "I've been around the town and I can handle myself with the big boys." The chaos witch poked him and said, "Don't be rude. Don't you know who this is?" The magician, who apparently thought he was rather important, said, "Yeah, I know who she is, and I don't care." He looked at me and said, "Maybe you don't know who I am." "I know who you are" I replied. "OK then, tell me." So I said, "A certain man is walking down the street. Meanwhile in a second story office on 32nd St. another man is sitting at a typewriter, and he types one sentence. The sentence says, So and so is walking down the street." Mr. Important (I can't believe what a dimwit he was) looked at me and asked, "So who's the man?" I answered, "You're the man and you're the one who's typing. Only the 'you' who is typing isn't the you who you think you are." Mr. Wilson, who was standing at the door, came in and said, "OK big guy, cool it in the hallway for a while."
The moral of the story is that the human scene that is so familiar to us is just invented by the mind. You, as an ego, are just a fiction, but you are also writing the story. You set the scene, and to make it interesting, put it right down town where the life is thick. It's better not to give that part of you a name, but some people give it a name, and they call it the "soul".
In the picture below goddess dresses up to go down town.
