I have had a crappy night and day so far, but I am not going to let it get to me. Instead I am outside enjoying the sunshine and focusing on the gardens I am going to be able to have once I move into my new home. I am so excited about it. It has a huge front porch that can easily fit a big table and chairs, to eat dinner at when it is nice outside. It also has a huge backyard that is fenced in with plenty of room for a garden and I am even looking at making an outdoor lounge area as well. I saw on youtube easy ways to accomplish just that and so I am doing research and looking at ideas to see what I want and working on gaining the supplies to get everything all ready back there too. I am also excited that I am allowed to paint the rooms any color that I want so I have been looking at decorating sites to see what colors I would like as well. I am mostly excited about the garden. I am doing vegetables and herbs in the back and have built in flower beds in the front of the house and on the sides. Now I am just trying to decide what herbs to grow since this will be the first time I will have an actual herb garden. I already have an idea of what vegetables and flowers I would like but need some ideas about the herbs. I want to use them mostly for magickal purposes but also for a bit of cooking. Anyone have any ideas or suggestions?

Succes with the garden and the new house. For info on decorating, gardening, kitchens, recipes etc see www.bhg.com

Two good books with much information about herbs are The complete book of herbs - Lesley Bremness

and Rodale's Illustrated encyclopedia of herbs for samplepages see www.amazon.com

Some kitchen herbs to grow: rosemary, sage, bay laurel, mint, parsley, basil, melissa, dill.

Magickal herbs rosemary, lavender, vervain, mugwort, yarrow, marjoram, calendula, sage.

Depends on where your magickal interests are. Healing herbs, general magick, dreams/dreamwork, astrological herbs, planetary etc

A site with lots of herbs and seeds is www.richters.com

Depends on what soil you are on, amount of sunny hours, gardening zone, to what grows easy. Most herbs need lots of sun.

A site on gardening www.davesgarden.com

somewhere on the site are printables for seed packets for when you harvest seeds.

The big plastic builders buckets are useful as round raised beds, also to grow small trees near patio area and to grow a batch of potatos.
