Pat Pimm, the member for Peace River North, resigned from caucus and resigned his post as parliamentary secretary effective immediately, the B.C. Liberal government caucus said in a release late Monday.
Pimm was taken into custody Sunday by Fort St. John, B.C., RCMP, spent the night in custody and was released Monday morning.
"I was involved in a dispute with my wife that led to police involvement," Pimm said in the caucus release.
He said he decided to take a leave from caucus and resign his role as a parliamentary secretary for the minister of energy and mines.
"It's time for me to work on family and personal issues," said Pimm.
A rookie MLA in a traditionally safe Liberal riding, Pimm said he had no intention to resign his seat.
(Looks like the BC Liberals' "Families First" agenda might need a bit of work...)
