I am well aware that some people view hexing as a no go and I respect that. As for myself I have no issue doing such an working after taken in mind am I just angry with this person, is this person going through something to cause them to behave negatively towards me, and other valid questions I’ll consider. After all these questions if there is an just reason for the working then I’ll do it.
Other times I’ll simply do an binding on that person, or perhaps an reversal on them.
More often than not sheilding works for me. Just put up that wall of protection and allow their negativity to reflect back at them.

A binding is a waste of energy and concentration.  It stays only as long as you put energy into it.  Shielding is taught to the beginner, but again only works as long as you are concentrating and giving energy to it.  I learned in Reiki how to open so wide or spread so thin that you can't be targeted.  Like a river with wide banks, if the current continues to flow through, it makes it very difficult for anything to stay, damage, or clog up.

Just imagine yourself as the conduit, wide pipe, Mississippi river, or anything else you have seen and experienced with large volumes of light, air or water running through it constantly.  Then practice moving energy through yourself, but don't hold onto the energy, just let it flow.

An alternate form would be to imagine yourself as porous earth and feel yourself sink into your surroundings and let the rain permeate your being, the air scatter you like dust and the landscape shade you from the moving sun.

Neither form takes energy or concentration to maintain.  Neither a river bed or a lump of soil does much work sitting there.  Though a warning to loosing yourself to your surroundings.  Not such a bad thing, but we are trained in this western society to be very aware of our desires. This meditation and way of life can lead you to be more aware of your surroundings and environment instead of your desires.

I guess it's cool. I mean no one really has control over you.

Reflection is probably the easiest as you can keep it up and it handles unexpected trouble. However, have you ever considered a creative unbinding. Imagine your trouble maker as The Grinch and unbind their heart (or their shoes). You do have to be careful not to give someone a heart attack as sometimes the unconscious filters intent into a literal channel. I have done this before and it was surprisingly effective.
