Anyway on to the topic, My husband and I will be married 15 yrs. in Jan. and we were thinking of renewing our vows, but I was thing of having a Handfasting Ritual instead. But I don't know if there is one that I can perform as I am a solitary! So if you canhelp I would be so greatful!! Thank you in advance! Alandia )O(
Thank you, I live in Birmingham, Alabama. And as far as I kno there aren't many Pagan/Wiccan clergy around my area, but I will check into the Humanist Clergy. Thanks and Blessed Be! )O(
Thank you, and yes if you dfon't mind I may ask you for a little help if I need it as I am not a very good writer. Love & Light )O(
I was quit confused... I was thinking... "How can you do a solitary wedding ceremony? Who would you be marrying? Yourself?" Then I read the topic... duh... sorry!
Yes, you can absolutely perform a private handfasting ritual between your husband and yourself. Since Handfastings are all pretty much unique at this point and here is no real standard format, you'd be best to come up with your own ritual... it would be more meaningful if you wrote it yourself anyways. Take a look at a bunch of different handfasting ceremonies online or in the book "Handfastings and Wedding Rituals" by Raven Kalldera to get ideas on what you might want to incorperate.
yes that is what I am planing on! ;) )O(
That is such great advice, thank you so very much! Blessed Be! )O(
here's a site you can check out:
editing the rite to suit your needs. My husband and I have done something similar. :-)
Handfastings are generally performed by an officiant on behalf of the happy couple. Since you are a solitary, you might consider looking on Witchvox or through affiliation programs such as Circle Sanctuary for an ordained priest or priestess in your area who performs handfastings.
