Something very interesting has come up in my life, that really intrigued me enough to join a group like this. I found out that my mother and her ancestors practiced a kind of anglo-saxon, celtic,…Continue

I have a question to ask. does anyone have any links to websites/ videos that can explain the fundamentals of ASH in an easier and more entertaining(while still factual) way? i have been given more than my fair share of links to lectures and papers and haven't really been drawn in as much as i'd like

Thank you for your patience whilst I was off line.  I couldn't do any groups on the library computers.

Hello everyone, how are you? My name is John, and I've just joined this group because I was hoping that someone could possibly help me understand Anglo-saxon tradition, my mother and her ancestors (I have never met) were germanic, celtic, norse and anglo-saxon and a lot of their magic was written in Old English, and I don't understand a damn clue of how to pronounce it, or translate and there really isn't much out there. But I really want to get into my roots, and kind of see if its righ for me.

I like how the language sounds, and I am hoping that someone could possibly aid me in my new found history.

Blessed to all,

Okies so a quick question to everybody.

I just watched the movie "The 13th Warrior" with Antonio Banderas. Aside from wishing i had that time back so i could do something else....i did like one thing in the movie.

"Lo, there do I see my father.
Lo, there do I see my mother, my sisters and my brothers.
Lo, there do I see the line of my people back to the beginning.
Lo, they do call to me.
They bid me take my place among them in the halls of Valhalla,
Where the brave, they live forever"

This speech sent chills up my spine as it partly reminded me of a dream i once had. Not the words or the speech itself, but the imagery that it produced, at least for me. But anyways, for those of you who've seen this movie, what did you think of the above 'prayer'?? For those of you who haven't seen it....just try to find a video clip somewhere rather than actually watchin' this film. (lol i wasn't a fan)
