Seems like people are not really interested in natural help. Even though it is out there I would like to find some one to exchange information with and just share with

I have a huge hawthorn tree in my yard, covered in berries right now, and lots of trees close by. I would love a recipe for conserve or medicine, if anyone can post one? Thanks!

wonderful, I will look into it. Thank you! Azuregreen is a witchcraft store both on-line and sends out a catalogs located in Ma. it has come a long way from the black and white newspaper flyers to a big color catalog with books, herbs, oils, cloaks, tapestries, nic-nac/bric-brac, magnetic bumperstickers, posters, books of shadows, wands, etc..etc.. and they are a Pagan owned company that does buy from individuals or other pagan companies. www.azuregreen.com tell Vic, I told you about them, if you ever order, nice folk.

April, oh thank you,...Western Medicine, one Doctor say's, my kidneys are working at 60 %..."kidney Doctor", Heart Doctor say's my Kidneys are just fine and so is my heart, but I suffer this condition of supra ventricular tachio cardio, ex: pulse 180-200 per min.(arrthymias) not often but it feels like an elephant is sitting on my chest while it is difficult to breathe. Cholesterol, 160... damn. I don't like these doctors, they give me drugs that contain poisons. So, I better do some studying more.... Does anyone buy herbals from Azuregreen.com ?? there was yrs. ago a botanical company, a nursery, it explained every herb and it's benifits and draw backs. it was free and they sold herbs, fresh, dried, by the oz. and the lb. does anyone know who/ what company I am looking for?... it has been yrs. It's a lot of study and information to learn. Then there is so much other study it all becomes overwhelming?? Let me know , please... I don't trust modern medicine, sorry, if that upsets anyone but I know who runs the F.D.A. and the conspiracy theory of Agenda 21. Thank God/dess I believe in the 5th dimension and the new age of aquarius. ( so quit the worrying...) Let this Poor toxic Mother take this poor toxic body and let fire cleanse this world and carbon matter is still carbon matter...( quit worrying, sharra).... little voices, little voices.... my work will be done here and I like "all" of us, the "phoenix arising, it will be what it is, blessed be "...... I will study beets... I like them. Thank's April.

Merry Meet, Samantha.

What college will you be attending for your herbalism studies?

Blessed Be,

Merry Meet, Mac'Lir.

Beet is listed under Beta Vulgaris. (Beet)

Description: Medicinal Parts: The root is the medicinal part.

(It describes the plant next, but I'll skip that part as I assume you know what a beet looks like.)

Habitat: Beet is indigenous to the coastal regions of Europe, North Africa and Asia from Turkey to India. The red beets as well as the sugar beets and the white variety are all widely cultivated.

Other names: Chard.

Actions and Pharmacology:

Compounds: Saccharose

Other oligosacchardes: refined sugar, ketose

Polysaccharides: including galactans, arabans, pectin

Fruit acids: Including L(-)-malic acid, D(+)-tartaric acid, oxaluric acid, adipic acid, citric acid, glycolic acid, glutaric acid.

Amino acids: including asparagine, glutamine

Betaine (trimethylglycine)

Triterpene saponins

In animal tests, the drug is effective against depositing fat in the liver. Betaine is methyl group doner in the transmethylation process in the liver.

Indications and usage:

Beet is used as a supportive therapy in diseases of the liver and fatty liver.

Precautions and Adverse Reactions:

No health hazards or side effects are known in conjunction with the proper administration of designated therapeutic dosages.

An intake of very large quantities of the drug could lead to hypocalcemia and to kidney damage because of the oxaluric acid content.

Mode of administration: Beet is available as a granular powder in standardized form.

(PDR Herbal Medicines, 1998).

Hope this helps. :)
