The Thelemic Mass is a ritual by the Temple of Thelema based on Crowley's Ecclesia Gnostica Catholica Canon Missae. We have updated it by including a list of FEMALE saints, for gender equality. We are asking for donations to be able to perform this as part of the Occult conference in Salem, MA September 28th. Any money raised over the amount we need will go toward performing it in New York City and elsewhere.

Pearls of Wisdom: Gems From the Journal Black Pearl by James A. Jim Eshelman"A Black Pearl of Infinite Preciousness"

James A. Eshelman has been a writer and teacher of metaphysical subjects for over 40 years. He is the Chancellor of the College of Thelema and the Prolocutor General of the Temple of Thelema.

"Seek the New in the Old ~ Seek the Old in the New." That was the motto ofBlack Pearl, College of Thelema's biannual journal published 1997-2002. Author James A. Eshelman contributed 100 articles during one of the most prolific periods of his career. This anthology gathers over 40 essays, many of them substantially updated and expanded, and some of them never previously published.
Pearls of Wisdom "seeks the new in the old" through a magnificent cache of wisdom teachings from one of Thelema's most insightful, creative teachers.
This is the "director's cut" of Black Pearl and more!
An Introduction to Thelema the ground shifting world-view of Aleister Crowley explains Thelema's core principles of Will, Love, and Star, then expands on the nature of True Will and Love Under Will; Thelema's pantheon of gods; and theNew Era of Aspiration now opening before us. The rest of the book is organized in 7 parts:
It's in the Basics + Magick + Qabalah + Thelema
Sexual Mysteries + Holy Guardian Angel + The Path

For example, one section ("Magick") explores a dozen topics of ceremonial magick, including traditional and newer forms of the pentagram and hexagram rituals, Sun adorations, new adaptations of classic initiation rites, the ancient art of evocation, and a new ritual for becoming a purer reflection of your deepest spiritual ideal. Chapter 32, The Magical Record of Brother Proserpinus, is a modern tale of a brother of A.'.A.'. who undertook the Great Work and succeeded. Four times the size of excerpts published in Black Pearl, this is the centerpiece of the book.

$8 admission, or free admission with purchase of book.

Pagan Pride Day, on Saturday, September 29th, in New York City, is a gathering of many different organizations and individuals, taking place in Battery Park every year. There will be music, workshops, crafts, and more. It's all day, from 11 am until 5 pm.

Aiwass Study Group, Babalon Salon, and the Temple of Thelema will share a table. Look for us there. Our table will feature a cut-out figure of the Great Beast! Come take your photo with him!

As part of Pagan Pride Day, I will be to giving a presentation on the Priestess card of the Tarot Trumps 11:30am - 12:15pm:

Let us examine this important tarot trump, the Priestess; a vision of female power. We will trace the historical development of this card, including examples from the Visconti-Sforza deck, the Rider-Waite deck and the Thoth deck. We will also examine Crowley’s writings in "The Book of Thoth", and "The Vision and the Voice" for a deeper understanding of the complex symbolism and associations of this fascinating and beautiful card.

In Battery Park, Pagan Pride is near Castle Clinton. Take the #1 to South Ferry, the 4 or 5 to Bowling Green, or the N or R to Whitehall Street.

This same evening, the Aiwass Study Group will be having Tarot Card meditations, you are all invited to. 6:00 - 8:00 pm at Altered Stages, 212 West 29th Street, 3rd floor, New York, NY, 10001. Between 7th & 8th Ave; #1 train to 28th Street.

Aleister Crowley, Bisexuality, and Thelema

Aleister Crowley was an influential occultist, astrologer, mystic and ceremonial magician, responsible for founding the religious philosophy of Thelema. He was also successful in various other fields, including mountaineering, chess and poetry.

Crowley was also bisexual, a recreational drug experimenter and a social critic. In many of these roles he was in revolt against the moral and religious values of his time. Because of this, he gained widespread notoriety during his lifetime, and was denounced in the popular press of the day as "the wickedest man in the world." But his contributions to the world were far deeper and more genuine than this myth portrays.

Thelema, the philosophy developed by Crowley, is a path toward discovering one’s true Will, or purpose in life. Sex is an important tool that opens different aspects of our personality, including the spiritual. We will also talk about Aleister Crowley’s constant exploration of all things possible in the sexual and the spiritual. Crowley had numerous lovers, both male and female; some of whom he collaborated with magically, such as his long-lasting relationship with Victor Neuburg.
