Pagan Science

For those who are both witches and scientists, we have this to discuss it.

Welcome to Pagan Science. Here, we shall discuss how being a scientist or a student of science affects your faith. For thousands of years, science and religion have been at odds with one another. It is only recently that we have begun to see that they can, in fact, confirm each other. Here is a place to discuss that confirmation, or problems we find that are inherant with this combination. We are not here to hurt anyone, or to trash anyone's opinion, please, and please be of assistance to those who need it. We are stuck here, in the middle ground of a great war, and here, I hope, we can help to end it.

long ago living word stared talking to me from the cloud (see loud) starting with i looks like wave collapse from observer effect and sounds like eye. so i call outta hear quantum english. he or she was loud about dope a-mine, seattle, space needle, 2 space dippers, cotton c louds and the first u.s. safe injection Sites. long story short reward deficiency syndrome is our crosses (besides what i say as the crow, eve abandoned me!) says 100 million americans have the diagnosis. we are missing 40% of our d2 reward dopamine receptors because of the drd2 gene. epigenetic rds is caused by ptsd and effects us the same and if we have both it compounds the pain we run to dopamine through behaviors or substances. i have both so my pain is substantial and requires substances but my suboxone appointments were disappointments. there is an agonist specifically for us but it didn't work for me since i have both types i believe. so biblical spirit fruit temperance or moderation is right and the people who thought abstinence was better caused all types of aberrant sex and aggression crimes. bible is a quantum book, obviously with the prophesy and jesus or logos or living word is back, from the cloud. end of the world, warriors of the rainbow unite. )O( #FeelTheBern #DemSocialists #DismantlingThePatriarchy #Progressives #JusticeDems #OurRevolution i have the full alphabeta and basic rules to this collective unconscious english (a is change, b is be, c is see, d is cross ache(th,) etc. if anybody wants the link to it, it is at my onedrive. blessed be! jesus christ! where's mary??!!

Would like to discuss proximal, synergistic and chaotic energy properties - anyone up for this ?

I am looking forward to interacting with this group. I am very much a scientist. Actually, I was employed as a soil and water scientist for many years. However, my real background is with plant bio-technologies, plant breading, pathology, physiology and ecology.

The other side of me is a witch. Many of my colleagues would laugh me off, if I was to declare such a thing to them. Although, I have many friends who know about my 'quirks', where some are like minded and others not, but still take me as I am. I have always been the way that I am, so I have never had to reinvent myself and find myself in the 'closet'. This is due to my circumstances when I was a kid. I have always had my differences from a very young age, which was a result of my need to survive. For now though, I'll leave that alone and just tell the way that I am today.

Firstly, I very much appreciate everyone's differences, as paganism is so diverse. Many of us have very different stories to tell and it is those differences that makes conversation and or debate, more interesting and the learning more fruitful. So, I am hoping that the things that I say here in this group, are not seen as a spiteful contradiction to anyone else. If anyone does feel offended, please give me the chance to explain myself, as I do not mean to disrespect anyone else's beliefs.

So, as 'spiritual' as I normally get, is that I work in honour or Mother Earth and Father Sky. This is founded, confirmed and fortunately conforming with my scientific background, particularly in the ares of chemistry, biology and ecology. With these fields, I can support and justify my beliefs to a point that they really can not be disputed. Although, I have had many debates about many different aspects of my beliefs and others', with wonderful entertaining moments. So if anyone is like minded in such circumstances, from time to time, I just love a bit of respectful banter.

Being one who dedicates my works to Mother Earth and Father Sky, I look to nature, the environment and the interactions within, to choose my choices in life. I am currently working from my home, cutting and polishing gemstones and silversmithing. Such work involves a degree of patients, which I often lack. However, it is the inspirations and the creativity that I receive from my surroundings, that get me excited and motivated to make my creations. Anyhow, I'll skip over that for now, as I am intending to make friends and not sales.

Getting back on the topic, I practice what might be considered to be quite an organic type of magick. It is a little off-beat to what might have been shared around. I am very willing to share, but it is quite a lengthy process to explain, so the details will have to wait for another time or even in another group, if it does become irrelevant to this group. However, it is my knowledge of science that enables me, just by chance or coincidence, to establish and confirm the beliefs that I have developed as a child. The kind of magick that I practice is what I refer to as 'tore' magick. The word 'tore' was acquired from the game of marbles, when I was a kid. Another type of magick that I practice has never been given a name as the number of different aspects of it are quite diverse, making it difficult to give a name of relevance. One day I might just give it a generic name of some sort.

In the past, I have written many articles about magick or magick related topics, particularly ones relevant to justifying magick or even just describing it from my point of view. I have also written an article about the connection of gemstone to magick and explaining the energy contained with in them.

I look forward to being able to share my writings here. I wont put them here for now though, as I'll wait until there is a topic of relevance, which then I will be able to contribute in a more constructive and cohesive manner.

Blessings to you all for now.

Hello all.  Does anyone come here anymore?  If not its a real shame because it looks like a really great topic to discuss.

So true! And there's nothing rational or logical about emotions...or spirituality. Few seem to recognize that. Sometimes it is hard to combine having emotions of spirituality with a rational or logical mind...things just need to make sense to me. When you acknowledge, and accept, that emotions don't always make sense, and neither does spirituality...things do tend to make sense. Yikes...starting to ramble. But I think you may understand what I mean.

Science is very much about rationality, and some situations just can't be rationally explained.

That said, combining rational theory with a slightly irrational thought process is the basis of most of our achievements thus far.

Good to have you here Caerulea. Group has been quiet for awhile. I think il all of PS has been quiet for awhile. Maybe new folks can generate some interest here. I do prefer to look at things from a scientific/logical perspective. Most things but not all.

More of a layperson who likes reading about science than a scientist per se, but nevertheless, I'm glad to be here! :D

I think most of us are in that same boat Emily. My work was scientific in nature but I didn't really myself a full blown "scientist". To figure!
