Pagans for Religious Recognition

Pagans for Religious Recognition

This group is for those of us that are willing to stand up and have our voices be heard! It is time that our government realize that we deserve to be counted among those that are free from religious persecutions and social stigmas that accompany it.

Greetings to all new members please post a comment below telling us a little about yourself and if there is anything we can do to help, or list any ideas you may have. Any and all will be considered. We are all here for the same reason....

I am on a mission. It is time that our voice is heard. The fire hasn't just been lit inside of me, the inferno is raging. I have to do this. I don't think I have ever felt so passionately about anything. There are so many things to say, I look at all of us and think about some of the discussions that we have had in the past about problems members have had with their children's school system, problems in the work place, problems in the military, even in the post office. I want to see a day in my lifetime when I can talk freely about my religion to any one, and know that it is okay! I want to know that I can ask off from work so that I can observe one of my holidays. I want to see our government finally admit that there are other people in this country who love their Gods, Goddesses, and want to celebrate and talk about that celebration. There is only one way to do this... shout and keep shouting. Whether it is in writing, or in spoken word. I am calling out to all of those who came before, who suffered the fires, who hung from the gallows, and drown in the waters of religious intolerance. Lend me your spirit to keep me strong! I promise you I will NOT stop! They will NOT quiet me. We will have our say! I can only hope that my efforts are rewarded with a dawning of a new day when I will rest easy knowing that my daughter can practice what she wants safely and without fear!

My name is Gena, and I seen this group and I could not agree more.  We need to raise our voices up so that not just the government hears us, but people around the world hears us as well and don't get the wrong impressions about us.  I am getting a little bit tired of people not helping me at food banks because I where a pentagram and refuse to hide it, just like they refuse to hide there crosses. I don't say they mean thing about them, yet I am accused of worshiping Satin.  They need to hear our voices and who we are and know that we can be just as helpful as they are!

So I see that this page hasn't had much action recently. :/

Greetings everyone!  My name is Chrysalis and I am from the Tribe of Gaea.  (We recently posted our group on Paganspace.)  I am definitely interested in learning more about current issues facing Pagans when it comes to religious intolerance and finding ways of advocating for our rights and voices to be heard.  It's great to meet some other likeminded folks!  :-)

Both are great ideas! I am looking for a logo of sorts, I am also meaning town hall meetings for the pagan community. It is easy to turn away from a letter writer, not a public speaker.

For something visual (are you looking for a symbol or flag, perhaps? - why not the pentacle - a very ancient symbol with a history in many cultures. It is, however, also know as the witch's mandala and some pagans etc. may object. There is also the tree of life - a symbol most would not object to. Either one I would be proud to stand beside, behind or in front of!

Greetings to new members! Well, after a little rest through the holidays it is time to get back to work. I got inspired today from a blog on the main page that says" Quit Bitching and Start a Revolution." So that's what my new year's resolution is gonna be! I think this is the time. I am ready, I have prayed for the Lord and Lady to give me the strength for what I know is coming. I will keep all posted, the first step in the game plan is to get visual, I tried verbal, that is NOT enough. I will be the pebble in the shoe. The powers that be won't be able to take a step without feeling my effects!!!
