I've read that while the Gods did have their main representation, like Aries as the God of war, Hermes as the messenger god and the only god that could go into the Underworld besides Hades and Persephone, sometimes the gods had other attributes. The most common example is Aphrodite, today seen only as a Goddess of romantic love and beauty. It is true she is a Goddess of romance, but she is also the Goddess of physical love, and is also the Goddess of the Sea. Some ancient city-states such as Sparta, Thebes, and Cyprus viewed Aphrodite as the Goddess of War. Her many epithets and titles include "Sea Born," "Killer of Men," "She Upon the Graves," "Fair Sailing," and "Ally in War" in addition to the many associated with love and beauty.

I think that we really need to read about the Gods that we're worshiping in whatever culture that we're taking them from so that we not only please them but don't insight their wraith. Like some people that think that their God is a god of love and grace. He's also a angry God, a God of War, and God that smites those that displease him or perform acts that he finds detestable. So this proves to me one point. No matter if you worship one god or many do your homework before you start practicing and don't just buy into one author that says 'Oh this is what the gods represent,' because a vast majority of them haven't done a bit of research because it's too long and it keeps their books from being printed on-time.

If they did do their research then not only would the book be better but it would be faithful to the culture that the author is taking it from. Sometimes having your book late and super is a lot better then it being on-time and horrible. Oh and let me add one more thing. The statement that I just made about authors not taking their time did affect my workings as I felt that something had been left out and most Wiccans and Pagans will find that something is missing as well (at least that's my persona opinion).

I'm starting to read more about the Ancient Greeks and one of them is A Beginner's Guide to Hellenismos. So far it's pretty fascinating.

Been sometime since I've been on this group. Anyway, glad that it was reversed Sir. Raibeart. Remind me not to go there.

In 1999 the Roswell NM School Board voted to ban the wearing of Pagan Religious symbols. Interestingly they made no such ruling against other religious took legal intervention to overturn that bit of Bigotry. But it also put Roswell NM as a city I would never visit. Sorry Aliens!!!

The situation, I believe, does not need to be reversed... just the views of people who are prejudice against us :)

Oh I totally agree with you, Andalusia, and if we work hard then we'll be able to do just that.

IT'S SNOWING PEOPLE! I can't believe that it's snowing. Goddess, I feel like I'm on a ski resort. Does anyone, once again, live anywhere where it's warm. Also does anyone live anywhere where white isn't part of the landscape?

Does anyone live anywhere that's warm? I want to know as I'm freezing over where I'm at.
