One of the on-going and persistent issues we have brought forward from the “mundane majority” is the “us and against them” mentality. If there isn’t a “them”, then they will hunt one down and, if one cannot be located, then they will find one amongst themselves.

This is not about sex versus sex issue.
This is not about Goddess versus God worship.
This is not about disempowering anyone else.
This is not about one Tradition or Group against another Tradition or Group.
This is about deepening our understanding in our spiritual pursuit.

Yes, there will be some comparison about the female structure in regard to the male structure, but I sincerely hope that it will be a focus as to what has made the female structure successful and how parts of the “structure” can be used beneficially for enhancing the masculine “structure”, while accepting at the same time, that what may be of best and highest use for one gender may not be for the other.

This is mutually working together for a common cause ~ empowering the male aspect WITHOUT disempowering women or anyone else or fueling the misassumption that to empower one automatically will be disempowering to the other.

I would respectfully request that we all try to keep this in mind in our discussions.

We can do this. I know we all can do this if we work together for the common cause. Let’s be an example to the Mundane Majority rather than continuing the negative lessons we learned from them.

Let us build a legacy for our sons and our daughters of mutual empowerment and acceptance. ~ Mead Muse

The original mission statement of the Sons of the Merlin:

The Order of the Sons of the Merlin (OSM) is a brotherhood dedicated to the spiritual growth of males of all ages, backgrounds, and traditions. We started out as a small study group of Pagan males in Florida, but feel that our work could resonate with men of many different paths and orientations trying to find their way towards a greater respect for the balance of the two genders.

For over two thousand years organized Western religions ignored, marginalized and persecuted the female aspect of Divinity. With the revival of nature centered religious traditions like Paganism in the mid-twentieth century, the pendulum swung to the opposite pole - a necessary reaction - and Goddess worship overshadowed the important but diminished role of the male aspect of the Divine. We feel it is now time for the balance to be restored.

We do not wish to supplant or dominate women. We wish, rather, a symbiotic and equal relationship, a balancing of the polarities, and a productive working partnership with our sisters. We feel this can only further the spiritual growth of all men and women.

We are nondenominational, accepting of all paths; we do not discriminate on the basis of tradition, race, or sexual orientation. We do not tolerate bigotry of any kind. We are all brothers and sisters, and we must treat all spiritual seekers with respect.

Join us on our journey to discover the God within and, in so doing, join with the Goddess within. Join us - With Open Heart and Open Mind. ~Fionn

I prefer to describe "duality" as "The ALL". Simple as it may be, its hard to argue, and very ambiguous. It paints a picture for everyone of their own design, is virtually impossible to argue against without looking and sounding a fool... And very often requires some thought before the words just dribble out. And quite frankly.... bashers of one or the other persuasion are quite tasty slow roasted on a spit basted in a gravy of their own words..... With a nice Merlot.
"Silly mortals......Will they never evolve?"

Getting heard is difficult, Tim.   Two days ago the HPS of a fairly large pagan Temple posted another of the all too common men bashing rants on FB.  It showed up on the same page as her appeal for donations to her Temple.  I tried very politely to suggest that since it has been observed that men contribute a lot more often than women, she might reconsider the timing of her misandrist post.  She got mad, accused me to trying to tell her what and how to think, ranted the common feminist "hear me roar" misandry, and "un-friended" me on FB.   She was "right" and self-righteous, and unwilling to hear from a man even when listening could have increased donations to her Temple.

Anti-men dogma is the stock in trade of a large percentage of Pagan women, particularly the over-40 and single females, but some of the younger ones too.  We see it everywhere we go, and every day.  The hair trigger feminist pagans are willing to start a witch war over any objection to their misandry.  Its hard to be heard about equal respect.

Greybeard I am with you on this one. But how do we get our voices heard

Merry Meet Men.   I see that nothing much has been going on in here for the past 3 or 4 years.   I see MEN being ignored or degraded on other Pagan web sites.  Sometimes they can't even bring themselves to say "MEN" and substitute the disrespectful "women and males," like we are some dumb animals.

In my tradition we celebrate a balance in leadership and divinity between men and women.  We celebrate the divine unions of Gods and Goddesses.  As above, so below.

Soooo, brothers and sisters - whassup!? Looking at the dates on the last reply's - not much! Wade, you still out there? I know Ananta Androscoggin's still with us, we've bumped heads in other Discussions. With this small rant, I'll step back and see what responses come. BB!
