Greetings! I'm new here and generally new to gardening... I have a bit of a brown thumb when it comes to plants, though my animal husbandry is quite good. (4H & FFA veteran). That being said my husband and I are going to be attempting a food garden once it gets cool enough to do so (Southern Arizona growing season is Winter rather than Summer). I look forward to sharing my efforts with you all and hopefully bringing some magick into my sustainable living!

So my husband and I bought propriety last year and we are starting to get things together to build things they way we want them. Once all this rain stops, (been raining for about 2 weeks) I'm going to get my garden going. We got 15 baby chickens last night. We have two adult chickens as well. I'm hoping to find a pig this summer, maybe two pigs. I'm very excited that we are finally to the point where we care really start doing things.

Hi I am so glad that I found this. Mainly because I have been a homesteader for a long time and although right now I can't do anything I still want to be able to get my own place and be able to Homestead like I used to. Currently I am living with my fiance's parents and they look down on certain things. They don't like my religion and they certainly do not know that I practice The Craft. They say tarot cards are Gateway for demons to enter. Right now I wanted to Garden but they are convinced that some of the things such as cat poop is good for your garden I tried to tell them but you know how that goes. So while I'm trying to figure things out and trying to find another place I'm actually at the moment planning. When me and my fiance's find a place we will be growing some of our food indoors and plenty of It Outdoors. Thank you for having this group. It is very much needed in today's society.

I am so happy to find this group. :) We live in Colorado Springs and just are finishing our greenhouse. We have been growing in it already even without the floor finished. So many plans. We are going solar with it and even built a small 4x5nook off it for my herbs.
Blessings to all the urban farmers and rural ones.
