Hey Andrea the hubby and I are from the GB area just so you know. I would like to ask everyone's opinion on a delema I have. I've been meaning to get a tattoo that represents the husband and I but I haven't been able to come up with anything yet. The tattoo has got to be norse based. I'd love to hear everyone's opinions so feel free to comment or message me personally.

Also, there is a Yule Festival (free) in the Milwaukee area on December 13th starting at noon.  I believe it goes until 7 pm.  For more details follow the link:

Yuletide in the Northwoods!

Event Details: All Hail the Holly King! Join us for a weekend of Yule frivolity and the warmth of good food and shared company.

We will be doing all the traditional DR Yuletide things including the bonfire, spiced cider and wine (perhaps even some fire whiskey) , tons of food, ritual at dusk on Sat night, raffle, and the wonderful and meaningful jump into the pond after ritual (always recruiting for that, nothing says Yule like stripping down and jumping into a hole in the ice into freezing water…) .

For the truly hardcore there will be a walkabout Saturday 11am through the winter wonderland that is DR this time of year. 3pm will find us talking about Yule/solstice lore and history. After the dusk ritual will be the feast, polar plunge and pagan caroling (after the polar folks warm up) !

There will be a fun gift exchange in which anyone that is interested can bring a present or two and we will pile them up and hand them out to all involved. If there are a ton of people bringing gifts there will be a lot, if not then no worries. Please bring a dish to pass for the Saturday night feast and warm clothing. We will be mostly inside but the numbers of folks coming means there will be some spillover outside. The new lodge will be open for sleeping, so be sure to reserve your space when you register!

Friday Evening: Arrivals & General Frivolity

9am – Breakfast
11am – Winter Walkabout on the Land (w/ Wade) . Dress warm!
12:30pm – Lunch
3pm – Discussion: Yule/Solstice Lore & History
5pm – Solstice Ritual (by Mary)
6:30pm – Solstice Feast & Potluck
8pm – Annual Polar Plunge in the pond.
10pm – Bonfire & Pagan Caroling

9am – Breakfast
11am – DR Board Meeting
12pm – Departures

Things to Bring: Dish for the Saturday Potluck (main and side dishes are most welcome, people can only eat so much chips and salsa…) , bring your own food for other meals (to share or for yourself) , sleeping gear (there will be spaces to sleep in the lodge – meaning, there will be heat, but it could still get a bit chilly, so sleeping bags and extra blankets might be wise) , gift (s) for the Gift Exchange (optional) , musical instruments (optional)
