Brilliant group, insight into what others are reading, suggesting, saving much trawling net time for reading material.

Kara, very much fancy this book, fascinated by the witch trials, fact and fiction.

Edding's works should be required reading for students in any magical discipline, IMO. And Pratchett should be very highly recommended for anyone who loves to read. :)

Woodsong, that's an interesting concept - I feel that way about David Eddings! While I do adore Terry Practchet, I find the Belgaraid and Mallorean series to thoroughly explore the philosophies and ethics of magic, life and our interactions with others.

Speaking as a bard, I have to say that works of fiction have impacted me far more than any book on occult spirituality. I've read plenty of great non-fiction, no mistake. In that category I've never been disappointed by John and Caitlin Matthews. Some of the greatest lessons on the pagan worldview can be had by reading Terry Pratchet.

I would very much like to read "The Fionavar Tapestry,'' by Guy Gavriel Kay. It's been reviewed as the finest fantasy sequence of all time by David Pringle, in 'One Hundred Best Novels.' I know Kay's "A Song for Arbonne" is excellent, one of the best that I've read. It's something one can get their mind's gear teeth into. Blessings!
