Nothing much. I'm into Dark Age History and all things Arthurian, and I'm a sucker for paranormal topics, TV shows on hauntings and horror movies.

I'm working on an Arthurian non-fiction book with co-writer Hank Harrison. :)It's called "The Heart of the Rose: The Alchemy of King Arthur and the Holy Grail".

Uhm...let's see, I hold a BSc. Honours degree in Optometry from the City Unversity of London. I credit my interest in the Grail, the Rosicrucian Enlightenment, The Royal Society and Freemasonry to an unforgettable graduation ceremony held symbolically at the Guildhall, followed by a service at the historic St. Paul’s Cathedral, which was designed by Sir Christopher Wren.

I began my writing career at the age of six, and I've won several short story writing competitions in different genres. I've published some scientific articles and philosophical poems over the years.

I'm also the moderator of several Internet-based Yahoo study groups, including Arthurian Myth and Legends, Arthurian Tradition and Avalon, and the online Arthurian reading club, Renditions of Camelot.

You are The Moon

Hope, expectation, Bright promises.

The Moon is a card of magic and mystery - when prominent you know that nothing is as it seems, particularly when it concerns relationships. All logic is thrown out the window.

The Moon is all about visions and illusions, madness, genius and poetry. This is a card that has to do with sleep, and so with both dreams and nightmares. It is a scary card in that it warns that there might be hidden enemies, tricks and falsehoods. But it should also be remembered that this is a card of great creativity, of powerful magic, primal feelings and intuition. You may be going through a time of emotional and mental trial; if you have any past mental problems, you must be vigilant in taking your medication but avoid drugs or alcohol, as abuse of either will cause them irreparable damage. This time however, can also result in great creativity, psychic powers, visions and insight. You can and should trust your intuition.

You Scored as Zoroastrian Pagan

The Zoroastrian Pagan is a rare breed who follows the teachings of Zoroaster, the religious reformer. He believed that there were no gods, and it was naive to put faith in them and give them names. What one should focus on is merely serving one side of the cosmic duality; work on good or light deeds, and the world would become more good or light. Pagans of this variety are rare, but often feel like they get more done without the hassle and clutter of pantheons and gods. They're smart, analytical, and occationally cynical.

This is indeed a very sad day for all who have read his books, or who have had the opportunity to meet him. John Michell is a leading authority on ancient science and the secret code of numbers. For many years, he led guided walking tours… Continue

Merlin splits the rock at St. Levan's

Posted on November 28, 2008 at 9:15pm 0 Comments

According to colourful local folklore, after the bloody Battle of Vellandruchar that was by Arthur and the 9 kings against the Danes, Merlin and the king rode to the famous rock called St. Levan's Stone, right by the porch of St. Levan's Church in Cornwall, close to a holy cross.

It has been amazingly split down the very middle.

Here it is said that the wizard struck the stone with his staff, and with a thundering crack, it split wide open.

And then Merlin… Continue

The Battle of Vellandruchar

At the battle of Vellandruchar, Arthur & 9 other kings marched to Land's End from Tintagel to defeat the Danes. Not one of the Danes survived the battle.

"So great was the slaughter that the mill wheel that gave its name to the battle was turned by the river of blood...Thus perished the army of Danes who landed upon our western shores..." (vellan = mill; druchar = wheel).

After the battle, King Arthur and the nine kings… Continue

There was a place on the frontier of the land of Shropshire called Bronn Wrgan, which was the abode of giants. They had imprisoned some brothers of Gwenhwyfar, the daughter of Gogfran Gawr, and this grieved Gwenhwyfar.

But Arthur saved them by killing the giants. He took the biggest head and placed it in the middle of the river as a stepping stone on the way to Castell y Cnwclas. As he stepped on it, he said: "May the head grow (tyfed yr iad) in the river… Continue

Eliseg's Pillar

In North Wales, about 35 minutes from Llangollen, near the empty arches of the 13th. century Valle Crucis Abbey along Abbey Road, there sits a stone monument atop a mound. This was a monument to a Welsh prince, and the inscription mentions Gwrtheyrn (Vortigern), who was his ancestor. The inscription also mentions that Vortigern's first wife was the daughter of Emperor Maximus (fl.383 AD) - Magnus Clemens Maximus - who appears in "The Dream of Mascen… Continue

King Arthur's Haunts

Posted on November 5, 2008 at 11:20am 0 Comments

Besides putting in the odd appearance at Tintagel Castle as a ghostly horseman, King Arthur's apparition has also turned up on a regular basis at several locations, including Cadbury Castle, Bodmin Moor and Slaughter Bridge.

It is said that on the nights of the full moon, King Arthur and his knights emerge from the hill-fort Cadbury Castle in Somerset, riding on horses shod with silver. They water their horses at Arthur's Well. On Midsummer's Eve, when the golden gates of the… Continue

The Haunting of Valle Crucis

Ghostly apparitions have been seen, and supernatural voices have been heard at the crumbling ruins of Valle Crucis Abbey in Llangollen, Wales.

Richard Holland, ghost hunter and editor of Paranormal Magazine received a letter regarding Valle Crucis Abbey in the 1990's, recounting an extraordinary vision witnessed at Valle Crucis in the 1930s.

The letter read:

“Walking one night on the road opposite Valle Crucis Abbey… Continue

Arthurian Grail Prototype at Rillaton Barrow

Here's another story from Rillaton, near Linkinhorne, Cornwall. This concerns an early Bronze Age golden beaker unearthed at Rillaton Barrow in 1837. It was found in a stone-lined chamber covered by a round mound.

The local tradition goes like this:

Whenever a hunting knight came near the Cheesewring on Bodmin Moor (which is allegedly the place where the Battle of Camlann was fought, and where Sir Bedivere… Continue

The Demon Knight of Glastonbury

Glastonbury Abbey's most famous ghost is the spirit that was said to haunt the Abbey after King Arthur's death. It is commonly called the Dark Knight. This is a black-armoured knight with glowing red eyes, whose sole demonic mission is to destroy all the records of King Arthur's life and death.

Although the demon knight lives in the pages of legend, the Abbey is still haunted - mostly by its monks. The Abbey has many reports by… Continue
