About Me:
I have 2 grown boys, 26 and 32 who I couldn't be more proud of. It's hard thinking of them as 'men', so I still call them my boys. lol Having been a single mom for many, many years, they have been my life. Now they have lives of their own and I have to let go and find something else to do. So I have decided to focus on what really is an important aspect of life. I've been on this path for about 10 years now but find that it's a continuing adventure. Always new things to learn and being here meeting new friends will accomplish alot of that. There's a wealth of information here that I look forward to learning from.
I love animals dearly. I have 6 cats and a pitbull. I had a lot of fish in my pond outside, but they have given up their life to raccoons. I love raccoons too, so they won. They still come back to visit even though I no longer have any midnight snacks for them. lol. II have a very soft spot in my heart for animals and I'm very upset at the daily abuse of animals; using them for experimentation, their fur and people just killing them for the heck of it. The yearly harp seal hunt has me in a constant sadness. How can anyone do that to defenseless animals? Anyway, something has got to be done to stop all this insaneness. I am so amazed at the earth and all we have. There is nothing like it. Anyway, it's very nice to be here and to meet like-minded people.
Favorite Books
Sylvia Browne, Dean Koontz, Stephen King, suspense, suspense, suspense. I learned alot from Scott Cunningham and others. Been reading the Harry Potter series. It's alot of fun and also am in the process of reading Stephanie Meyer's series. I like just about anything if it's exciting!

Canada's annual commercial seal hunt is the largest commercial hunt of marine mammals on the planet. Harp seals are the primary target of the commercial seal hunt, and to a much smaller extent, hooded seals are also killed. In 2006, 98 percent of the harp seals killed were pups under just three months of age. Hundreds of thousands. In fact, over the past three years, nearly one million seals have been killed. This is a cruel and unnecessary activity. It needs to be stopped!

Rest in Peace My Dear Momma Kitty

Posted on March 13, 2009 at 10:39pm 0 Comments

I lost my dear Momma Kitty this morning. She was Coco's mom. She was a special stray cat meant to bring me joy. She arrived when she had Coco's litter on my roof. We became very close and she was always sleeping by my side. Coco on one side and her on the other. Over the last year, she has become frail and thin. She always had energy though and bounced down the hallway and ate real well. Yesterday when I got up, she seemed subdued. She didn't want food… Continue

R.I.P. My Dear Sweet Coco 1995-2009

Posted on February 14, 2009 at 8:13pm 1 Comment

My dear kitty Coco left us on Sunday. She knew. She didn't want to go to the dr. and be in unfamiliar surroundings when she left. She timed it perfectly. I had been telling her; through all her crying on Sunday; that she could go now. It was so hard to watch. I just held her and softly petted her and told her it was going to be ok. Bless you Coco and thank you for bringing such joy and love into my life. You will be in my heart always. You will be so… Continue

A Sweet Poem for our Dear Departed Kitties

Posted on February 7, 2009 at 1:57pm 0 Comments

I have a very sick kitty and unfortunately am going to have to put her to rest on Monday. This has been killing me. Here is a poem a dear friend sent to me to try to make it easier for me to cope. It touched my heart and I wanted to share.

And God asked the feline spirit

Are you ready to come home?

Oh, yes, quite so, replied the precious soul

And, as a cat, you know I am most able

To decide anything for… Continue

Terminate Arnold!

Posted on December 20, 2008 at 12:37pm 2 Comments

Once again, state workers are having to 'help' balance California's deficit. I am sick of it. I am sick and tired of all the times we have had to do this. Now it's the worst ever at a 10 percent monthly pay cut by furloughing us 2 days a month beginning in February. He is also laying off 20 percent of state employees. It's a double whammy for us as we will also have to pay the tax increases that he is imposing on everyone else. Is this fair???? This is lining up more foreclosures, more loss of… Continue

Ghost in the Bathroom at Work!!

I was washing my hands and I heard a huge bang behind me. I turned around to look and as I did, the handicapped stall door swung out about 3/4s of the way and slammed shut. Same noise I had heard when I was facing the sink. So it did it twice! I thought, maybe someone walked right by me and into the stall so I looked under it to see if I saw any feet. No feet. There is no way I would have been able to miss anyone coming in anyway. It slammed louder then it would of normally. It was forcefully… Continue

My Son's First House

Posted on November 29, 2008 at 1:45pm 0 Comments

My son and his sweetie have just bought their first home. After looking at dozens of houses, they finally chose one. There was no way they would have been able to buy one without it being a foreclosure. Unfortunately, someone had to lose something in order for them to gain. That's the sad part. This house was not foreclosed though, because of the housing problems. In the winter of 2005, we had a torrential downpour and it rained hard for 5 straight hours. Probably doesn't seem like much to… Continue

It Doesn't Change

Posted on October 18, 2008 at 3:23pm 1 Comment

When our children are young, we worry. We worry that they won't have everything they need. We worry they will get cuts and bruises. We worry about their relationships because we don't want them hurt in any way. It's true, our children are really only loaned to us so we can raise them the best we can and give them good values. But it really doesn't stop there. My boys were my life. Times were hard. I was a single parent for most of their childhood. It sure was a struggle. They have turned out to… Continue

I Believe...

I Believe...

That just because two people argue,

it doesn't mean they don't love each other.

And just because they don't argue,

it doesn't mean they do love each other.

I Believe...

That we don't have to change friends if

we understand that friends change.

I Believe...

That no matter how good a friend is, they're going to hurt you every once in a while and you must forgive them for that.

I Believe...

That true friendship… Continue

Life's Ups and Downs

Posted on September 28, 2008 at 3:07pm 0 Comments

When my kids were young, I always thought that once I'd raised them, things would be simpler. Well, as they grow up and mature, as most of you know, there are alot of ups and downs. I was single for most of their childhood so I'm very pleased at how they have turned out. It doesn't get easier when they get older. It gets harder! The problems are bigger! Why didn't someone warn me? I've known this for a long time, but still reel from it. Now things are good. It also seems like we 'go through'… Continue

I belong to Care2 and they have a contest where shelters will get help with funding. My local shelter is very small and has always had a problem. This is my chance to help. On my page here above this post, I have the above picture where you can click and it takes you to a page where you can vote. I don't think the one above is 'clickable'. lol. I thank anyone in advance who votes for this special cause. Thank you!!!! Blessings to all…
