Writing Spells with Magick Words :)

Once again; on a lighter note this time, I wanted to talk about the "Magick Words." So many young witches do not feel comfortable writing their own spells, rituals and prayers because they feel they don't know the magick words. I am here with a little (okay...not so little) antic dote to show you that you can do it yourself; after all, it is all about intent and belief. In the words of William Shakespear, "A rose by any other name would smell as sweet."

Watching video of a handfasting

I was wondering around Youtube today and I came across some really good videos by Amethyst Televen. Watching her on how to open and close a circle and a few others, but then I stumble upon a video of a handfasting. My girlfriend and I sat and watched it (about 15 min long) was amazed at how beautiful the ceremony is. When we get married I want to do this. What really got me is when the priest (or whatever they call him, if you know please enlighten me) said "I am not asking who will give…

Greek Classicism

Greek culture has many examples of classicism, especially in the arts. They were a very original culture in their way of life. A good example is the Parthenon. It towers in height with it's beautifully elegant and simple design. It served as a shrine to Athena, the goddess of wisdom and war. Many people visit it each year for it's history and unique structure. It had a…

The Story (older version)

i was up for a few hours last night, after awhile i fell into a strange sleep. immediately i found myself in a strange dream, in this dream i had sold my soul to someone to get what i needed. and every so often i could see what looked like a graveyard in the distance of my sight, and i would hear a calming voice that would remind me that it wouldnt be very long before its time to go. well after dodging the though of losing my soul for awhile the time finally came, and i stood in my backyard…

This week's show is a celebration of the sabbat, Imbolc, which will be on Saturday, February 2.

It marks the 1/2-Way point between Winter Solstice and Spring Equinox (which is cause-enough to celebrate!).

Imbolc is a Primary Cross Quarter sabbat, Sacred to the Goddess Brigid, known by many as the Queen Mother of Ireland.

So we talk about some of the history and symbolism of Imbolc and Brigid's associations. And I'll share with you a traditional Irish myth of Brigid. This…

On the meaning of Interfaith

On the Meaning of Interfaith

“These Bible study groups for married couples are getting bigger and bigger,” the man across the table from me said to the guy sitting next to him.  “There’s a waiting list; we really need some more people to volunteer to host them.”

“I know,” the other man sighed, shaking his head.  “People just don’t seem to get…

In my coven we have 13 positions, 2 casted circles and names that do not match normal covens.

Earth is not the same as wood for us. Wood is the female side of earth, and earth is the masculine. Wood is everything that grows, earth is the base for that growth.

How I got here

My journey has been going on for some time. The truth is the deeper I started to dig, the more I started to doubt, the more I doubted the further I moved away from Christianity. The more I moved away the less effect the brainwashing had on me. I cleared my mind of all dogma and looked at the bible with Atheist eyes. All I had were questions. How come women had no voice in the bible. All verses were derogatory toward women. All verses written by men to serve men's interests. Modern translations… Continue

Reiki in Hospitals

Over the past two decades, Reiki has gained much wider acceptance in the medical establishment. Hospitals are realizing the effectiveness of the treatments and also the increased patient satisfaction. Many hospitals now include Reiki in their patient services, provided by their own physicians, nurses, therapists, and other support staff.

A research study at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut showed increased overall patient satisfaction with the treatments. The…

Palm readings

I am curious to know if anyone else on this site (who happens to read this blog I guess lol...) knows how to read palms? Or knows someone wanting a palm reading done?

I as well as 2 others (who also read palms) belong to a group on here (called Palmistry People) where we are not only learning from one another, but also learn from doing readings for others (for practice, for free...)

I invite you to join us to either get a free reading, or to learn and try to read palms…

Merry Imbolg / Lá Fheile Bríd !

Light of Prehistoric Promise Burns Brightly at Imbolg ,

By C. Austin,

Vocatus atque non vocatus deus aderit "Bidden or not bidden the gods are present"

The sun set brilliantly this evening. As high cirrus clouds of purple, bronze and magenta ushered the solar disk westward, I noticed that dusk arrived later than it did only weeks ago. Imbolg, the advent of Celtic spring nears, its promise…
