I have been looking foward to the highland games all year. When a day gets me down .I just think about camping, hanging out with new friends and old,the sound of bagpipes and drums. When i can..t find a smile and things are tough. I think about the men in kilts. The smell of roasted food and delectable treats. And the smile can last for hours. If the the day is too hot or cold out to do much. I think of the cool breezes and sunny meadows. The nice shade of the woods and the warming camp fires at… Continue

I have never really written a blog before. Probably because I spend most of my time reading, rather than writing (unless, of course, it's fantasy, but that's different lol). And I guess I've never really felt comfortable enough on the other websites to really write anything about myself.
I am 37 yrs old, married for over 19 yrs now to a Deist. We have an 18 yr old son who is probably more Heathen than I am. There's really not much to tell about… Continue

I'm very depressed. Since starting this new job, I have plummeted to a state of despair! I have lost all self confidence. I'm beginning to think irrational thoughts. I come home, eat a little, then sleep until I have to get up for work again the following day. I've stopped exercising, metitating, and above all- I have stopped worship!!! It is the Dark Moon soon, so I plan to cleanse myself of these depressing thoughts. Let's hope it works!
I have a job that tries to stop people from… Continue

This week has been busy but beautiful. The weather's been sunny and clear. I had a good day at work and also had fun at the movies watching Get Smart. It was hilarious! Then I went back and sunbathed, read and watched Charmed. I also have been watching Ani Difranco Live at Babeville on DVD. I did a grounding and centering ritual as well as create a protection shield by listening to Christopher Penzak's cd The Witches Shield on Monday. Plus I've been practicing piano and… Continue

befriending a feline
A cats odd behavior as everyone knows.
As in an example of bitings ones toes.
Is a problem not takcled by anyone knowing.
That a cat will lead.
Though he knows not where he`s going.
So if youre trying to find a why or a where for.
Dont try with a cat.
All you`ll get is a big chore.
Just accept that a feline is his own boss
Or youll see that your temper is all that is lost.

Moon Phases and Cutting the Ties That Bind
Do the Moon Phases affect us? How do they affect us? How to cut the
cords that bind us.
I ask for a special blessing for all of you today...may the angels
smile down on you...may your path you walk be smooth...may you always
see rainbows and be surrounded by a white light for protection..
Tonight we will be talking of the moon phases and cutting the ties
that bind us.
First I would like to ask how… Continue

10 Tips for a Spiritual Summer
It's summer. It's hot. If you feel overwhelmed or stuck, it may seem like there's nowhere to turn. Houses of worship have shifted to lighter hours and offer fewer activities. Therapists and friends have that annoying way of departing on exotic, expensive vacations. But remember, in the heat, you can expand. These are spiritual months. You can tune into yourself as a living organism, absorbing the rain and sun. You can tune into your senses. And you can… Continue

Meditations with Native American Elders
“I’m an Indian. I’m one of God’s children.”
Mathew King, LAKOTA
My Creator, today let me remember the reason I’m here
on Mother Earth. Let me look into my own eyes and see
the beauty You have created. Let me have good
thoughts. Being Indian is not the color of my skin.
Being Indian is to listen to my heart, to think only
the things You have taught, to watch nature and live
in harmony. Being Indian… Continue

The month of July opens in Nepal with the Naga Panchami festival, which is devoted to the Snake-Gods called Nagas. Sacred snake images are displayed on religious altars, offerings are made at snake holes, and parades featuring live serpents fill the main streets of many villages.
In Japan, this day is sacred to Fuji, the ancient Japanese goddess of fire. Fuji is also regarded as the grandmother of Japan, and on this special day (which also marks the start of Mount Fuji… Continue

Many people suffer with the tendency to apologize all the time, chronically, for everything. On the one hand, apologizing is a social convention that keeps interactions between people polite, and in that way it can be very helpful. On the other hand, if we find ourselves apologizing for everything, it might be time to look at why we feel compelled to say "I’m sorry" so often. Ultimately, saying you’re sorry is saying that you are responsible for something that… Continue

You are The Lovers
Motive, power, and action, arising from Inspiration and Impulse.
The Lovers represents intuition and inspiration. Very often a choice needs to be made.
Originally, this card was called just LOVE. And that's actually more apt than "Lovers." Love… Continue

Everyday for the last week, I have searched for any resemblance of a Dianic community in Ireland on the internets. And everyday i get nothing! I would love to have the same sort of structures in place that places in the US have. Most of the books i have read paint pictures of a women supporting women community and alas that is not the case in Ireland. While i love being a solitary witch, sometimes i ache for the support and companionship that a coven would provide. I would even settle for a… Continue

a stray cat that lives around my neighborhood showed up on my doorstep a couple days ago and never left.
i've been aquainted with him for a couple of months now, and even my Dad, who hates cats took a liking to him, so we've decided to take him in.
i'm not sure if this has anything to do with being pagan, but i felt like posting about him.
i feel like maybe i should let him out of the house at night. my sister and parents disagree.
i'm kind of nervous… Continue

I believe that all things that we go through are semi-preordained. . . Basically, that we have multiple paths to choose from, and based on which path we choose, a certain event occurs because of that choice. It's a strange mix of fate and human choice. I'm not sure if it makes sense to anyone but myself, but it's what gets me through the tough times in life. As does my faith that the Goddess has a reason for all of this, and it's to make me a better, stronger person in the… Continue
