Paganspace, please stay on the line, your call is important to us...

I just got off the e-horn with Starr Price; her mood is somewhere between laughing at this site (and the new one) and pure salt. With that being said, she stated to me that she is working on funding for a new site, to take back her brand.

Starr partially sold this site in 2013 to assist her with recovering from her losses after hurricane Sandy; her business partner is not the person that you all know as "Business", the partial owner is mostly silent; Business is an employee of the partial owner.

Business gained access to Starr's admin account and was able to take control of the site, and ban her regular member account, because they feared that she would push back against their efforts to implement a paywall scheme; this much has been confirmed by Starr. Dis' ain't Fortnite, dis' is gator, and gator don't take no shit.

Keep your eyes forward and hold out; Starr will begin work on a new site soon; she's a competent web developer and administrator. Until then, if you want to push back, log in to the new site and terminate your account; you have to check the little box that asks if you want to delete your content; this is really what this is all about: content. Specifically, making that site look like it's actually this site with all of its knowledge and history.

I hope that this post reaches some of you before the owner deletes it.

This is second hand knowledge. Starr should make a new account and come on here herself to prove it and make a video interview. Better yet, tell her to get in touch with Ning and provide documentation proving she's created this place and let her take back the owner account.

It's what I'd do. Stop creating second hand drama when you and I both know it's preventable. You know the creator is going to delete it, so just let us know after the fact. Like, when Starr has something to offer.

This is only second hand because I am relaying it to you all myself. I save screen shots of every sensitive conversation that I have. Don't come to this thread thinking you are going to call me on anything because I save my receipts... Punk :)

Fair enough, I get that. I just hate how divided we are over a preventable situation that's all.

The new site requires a login to see anything, which means you can't share an article or a blog post with someone to say "hey there's some good stuff here; you should join."

And yeah, that looks a lot like "eventually we'll add a paywall instead of a login-wall, and lock the site to a handful of subscribers... but we'll keep the more than a decade's worth of content to convince people there's something worth paying to see."

Elf, I warned you guys lmao. Some of the people that are lamenting this are also there dry humping the dude's leg. Serves them right.

Elf, Starr agrees with you about the direction of the site: moving away from a Pagan-centric site to create an environment better suited to the community as a whole. She actually brought this up first and then I mentioned what you stated in the forum discussion previously. Starr stated that she wanted to change the direction of the site years ago, but the community was already too well-rooted and she didn't want to create turmoil. You made it buddy, you won :)

Dave Pellani, your input isn't required, my blog isn't a penis, so keep it out of your mouth. I am just trying to help Starr get word out; thank you and have a great day.

Comments will now be moderated to prevent racists from posting; if racists want to speak, they can do it on another blog.

I believe you, Spooky. I don't think you'll ever lie about this.  But I won't be joining any new website, the reason why many people left this one was because of all the drama. "GTFO PaganSpace."

"We don't want you in PS, anymore. Please leave."

If a website is going to grow, it's going to have all sorts of people with all sorts of different backgrounds on it.  People need to learn to get involved with threads they like, instead of being a negative nelly.

So I've been sticking to websites with rules like, " We are promoting open and civil discussion, any disparaging or derisive remarks toward a person or a group of people will not be tolerated and may result in a ban from the newsroom."

In other words, if people just got through with workplace drama or family drama, they don't want to come online and deal with even more drama.  There's only so much negativity in a single day that a person could take.

This is not me pretending that I've never made troll threads. I have, and I fully own up to that. It was a shitty thing for me to do. But I was just tired of people saying, "GTFO PS."  Was it bratty of me to do. Hell yes. Was it immature of me to do? Absolutely. But there's only so much negativity that a person could receive until they go. Fuck it. I'm just gonna be a troll.

Or at least have a PaganSpace Spite Club where people could be as rude and as nasty as they want. And a different section for Civil polite discussions.  There's the way people who want a bloodsport could go to some Spite Club, and a people who'd want to have civil discussions about books, poetry, literature, news, events, could have their own area. So we could stop having these personality clashes.

Even on twitter, it seems like nobody's ever had de-escalation training and are unfamiliar with de-escalation techniques or conflict management resolutions.
