I often ask myself, why do humans destroy their own bodies and take drugs, eat unhealthy, live small lives, alcohol, party too much, etc...

It's because they're not happy with their own lives. They have to work in a daily job, doing the same things over and over again. Then they come home and don't know what to do. So they smoke, because they're stressed, or they drink coffee to stay awake and to have more time of the day. In the evening they drink alcohol and party, cause they didn't have any action the rest of the Day. When they're drunk, they mock others to feel better themselves. I think, people can do whatever they want with their lives. Even I sometimes am stressed and need some fast energy, but in general I try to stay healthy. I want to be happy and make the Best out of the day, so I go out often. You can go to the gym, but that will only nourish your body and not your mind. When we were children, i guess most of us were happy going out and playing knight with a stick. Why should we even drink coffee or smoke, when it tastes bad and we're Not exhausted. Try to become a child again! You can't? Then at least become a younger (better) version of yourself, or you will regret your whole life in the end, having seen nothing but your backyard and the next bigger city. Travel or at least enjoy nature. Feel the Sun shining in your face and be as happy as you can be.

Good points...I think many in here all understand this yes,the rest are still in delusional states or tunnel vision, some being the religious mind washed and are in fact part of this very problem often, its indoctrination from parents or family dis-functionality. Seriously what you do with your life is up to your mind to draw out, if you truly believe in your reality, most humans objectives in life will be to live happy, to make progress, to consider the possibilities available for this earth, to do what it takes to save our planets ecosystem, to make a difference for the better of earth and humanity, and most of all, to live free of horrid shackles society has to offer.. anyone else's perspectives are theirs and theirs alone being just their own manifestations of thought based on the above perspectives..and how you deal with them are then your own consciousness & path & lessons to be learned [self shadowwork]..its that simple..though its amazing how hard it is to put into place isn't it cos our friggen sick minds wont let it be that simple...

To understand why people do what you judge as "take drugs, eat unhealthily, live small lives, alcohol, party too much" you'd really have to spend time talking to them.

What seems unhealthy to you might be a cultural diet for someone else. Not everyone grows up with the privilege of a nutritional education and many people cannot afford fresh organic food. You can get free bread from a food bank but it's not very often they give away Tabbouleh salads to the poor. What's more? Consumption of alcohol is also a social thing. Many prestigious work positions require employees to socialize in lounges and at clubs where they're expected to drink with potential customers and business partners; along with everyone else. Hopefully, those folks know how to pace themselves and don't overdo it. Addiction is never a pretty thing.

Meanwhile? I wonder why you are so concerned about how everybody else is living. The only person you and I can have any authority over is ourselves and maybe our kids (if we have any).
