Poetry Update : Newest Poem : Crimson Lips and Milky Flesh

My Newest Poem: Crimson Lips and Milky Flesh has inspired the idea of my first character based group of poems, similar to a short story / graphic novel but in a poetic format. Well it's something to chew upon, lol.

Crimson Lips and Milky Flesh

Crimson lips and milky flesh flood my mind.
The lurid nature of instinct consumes and drives
my every move and still beneath this husk I stand in shadows.
My words seek out those who are curious while something
fierce and intoxicating swirls within.

With pen in hand and eyes on the ready I consider the scent
of flesh , the fury of lifelessness and the corruption of time.
My eyes are dilated and sharp but my despair is plain and
clear... at what cost do I bare my soul?
At what cost do I refrain?

With a deep breath keeping my heart at bay I push my
finger tip into the chest of doubt and with my tear filled
eyes I demand answers to questions that escape me.

Beneath this husk I ponder.
Within this shell I smolder.
Behind these eyes I rave and ravage.

Crimson lips and milky flesh flood my mind.

This is beautiful. This really speaks to me in such a way that words fail me. I wonder what provoked this thought.

Thank you very much for your kind words :) comments such as yours inspire my need to push forward. Many of my poems are products of my deepest thoughts and emotions, "Crimson Lips and Milky Flesh" is one those. You ask what provoked this thought... the answer has many layers just like my poems have many layers. I tend to tease the reader by allowing pieces of my dark vision to emerge and blend with the light of my passion, the end result often leaves the reader curious and wanting. My inspiration is all around me and within me. I can take a simple word like Flesh and generate a galaxy of thoughts but when I put myself deep within those thoughts I become those simple words.

Tae, thank you so much for commenting your words become my inspiration.

Daniel, you are most welcome. It was my pleasure, indeed. I do the same with writing... build around a word or phrase. Some word or thought my provoke a string of words or thoughts that I eventually form into a whole. However, sometimes things just flow... seemingly with no marked beginning. I find inspiration in many things, as you so eloquently put it... "all around me and within me." *smiles* Things seem to flow from you effortlessly, and that is truly a blessing. I look forward to reading further poetry of your soul, Daniel. If you are interested, I could share some of mine as well. Much love to you, kind sir. -Tae
