Be forewarned, I am about to wander all over the spiritual map. Some of my wanderings may sound quite strange and some will hit home for you, dear friends. All I ask is that you think about what I've said without judging it. Please forgive any misspellings - I'm not that good a typist.

I believe it is part of my role in this lifetime to follow the Blue Path. And allow me to explain what I precieve as the Blue Path. To me, it is a combination of all paths. It is seeing the good and the truth in the Wiccan way, the Christian way, the Native American way, the Druidic way, and all the many other paths (as Budda said: there are many paths to the top of the mountain, each has to find their own way). I've walked this other routes in past lives and remember and value the good in each. They all recognize one Great Spirit, one Creator, from whom all has been created. As such, we are all connected. We are all brothers and sisters. As I walk this path and learn, it is my task to gather ALL the legend stories, to honor ALL the ancestors, and to share what I know and help others to raise their spiritual conscienceness too. This is why my sacred native name, given to me by my mentor, is The Grass Dancer Man Who Walks The Blue Path, or Blue Grass Man for short.

If you know some Native culture, and attended some sundances or pow wows, you might've seen some dancers at the very beginning of the gathering out dancing on what will be the ceremonial area. They are the Grass Dancers, the preparers of the sacred grounds. They dance the grass flat, but do not damage it.

Moving on - The Native American (First Peoples) path is the Red path. It is a wonderful path. But it's not the only one. In nearly all First Peoples beliefs, there are the Four Directions with a color assigned to each. The East is almost always Red. The South is almost always Yellow. The West is almost always Black. And the North is almost always White. Many say that the opposite of the Red Road is the Black Road. It is the path of those who have followed the darker side of the Red and usually leads to the destruction of that person. The White path is the Spirit path and is walked by the very spiritual, Shamans and Medicine Men (and women). There are a great many other paths too, like Shinto and Judaism, like Druidism and other "pagan" beliefs that the First Peoples don't have a color for. But in my mind the blending of all these produces the Blue Path.

I am reading a book called The Celestine Prophecy by James Redfield that talks about this. It's about his experiences with a manuscript found in Peru some years back that talks of humankind's spiritual evolution in terms of Insights. The 1st being that there are no coincidences. Everything that happens in our lives happens for a reason - like there's a reason you've decided to read my rumblings. It's a recognition that's there's something more to life and lessons are coming at us all the time - if we'll just stop and think about it long enough to make the connection.

I've read and personally experienced up to the 7th Insight. I have not finished the book yet. I know there's 11 Insights to be read. But it's like a math class though, you can read ahead but until you've grasped Algebra, the Calculus isn't going to make a bit of sense to you. Likewise, until you've dealt with the past, you can't move into the future. But I am tasked to act as one of the teachers, helping those behind me to reach where I am. As the Great Spirit has given me the wisdom to understand these insights, if I use my knowledge for the wrong reasons - self gain or other base purposes, he will remove those gifts.

The 2nd and 3rd Insights talk about the energy that all things possess and how we all interact with these energies. Humans tend to feel a lack of personal energy and attempt to draw energy off of each other in order to survive. This causes struggle and conflict because nobody likes having their own energies depleted. The problem is that people have become caught up in Ego and Greed and have forgotten their true purposes and the fact that Great Spirit has enough energy for all to grow strong with.

The 4th and 5th Insights talk about how to incorporate the lessons of the first 3 insights and how to see the energies in all forms of life. And how to build up your own fields without taking away from anything. This is usually done at first by meditating on a tree or bush and connecting with it's energy by recognizing the beauty of it, by feeling the love it possesses for it's life and surroundings. Then when you can actually see it's energy field, you can project yours into it to help it grow and it turn yours grows too. It's indescribable in the english language to explain the feelings. But it's soooo freakin' cool.

The 6th and 7th Insights talk about how once you've achieved these learnings, it's time to go into your past and clean up the mess there and learn who you truly are before you can move on. You have to understand the lessons of why you were born to your mother and father. What was their spiritual messages you needed to know for this life's journey? What was it about each of them that was positive and rang of Truth - and how would you have improved on that to make their paths more spiritual? This is difficult because it can open up a truckload of painful memories (as it did for me - my father was a closet alcoholic with a violent temper) But you have to see past the disagreeable portions to the root core of their beingness. Because this is what has shaped you up to the time you perceive the 7th Insight. And the 8th Insight won't make sense until you've dealt with the 7th.

I've been blessed to have had many mentors and friends who also share an interest in taking an unbaised look at what the true spiritual nature of humans has been and could be again. I'd like to share with you all a recurring dream I've had. It's about traveling back in time to the When of the Duwamish People; who in their own language refer to themselves as The People of the Inside or Dkhw’Duw’Absh. In this dreamstate, I am who I am today, a 48 year old former Internet Apps Developer who wears t-shirts and bluejeans. I approach what I recognize to be the shape of the city of Seattle from the air, as though I'm an eagle. Below me is forests and lakes and creeks instead of roads, homes and businesses. It is populated though, by hundreds and possibly thousands of people. I guess from understanding the history of the region that I'm looking at maybe 400 A.D. I land as a human, garbed in my 21st century clothing, in the center of a communal gathering area. A crowd of Dkhw’Duw’Absh have gathered as I descend and are waiting for me. Upon landing I extend greetings. Not knowing their language I sign as I speak. I am greeted in return by their chief. I take off my t-shirt and hand it to the chief, who smiles and signs for me to follow his daughter; who takes me by the hand and lands me to a longhouse were I am presented with buckskins, tunic and moccasins.

I marvel at the beauty of the place, these people are all genuienlly happy, content with life and have no wants or needs. Every one cooperates with everyone else without being asked. The energy, the mood is tranquil. I am shown about the encampment, I meet all the skilled masters, I meet wonderful, playful children and their parents. I saw a way of life that speaks to my soul so powerfully I wish to remain here amongst these people for the rest of my days. In signs, I talk with the chief and many others about how they've achieved such a blissful state. I am told it is simple, all you have to do is see the Creator in all things and understand that you are a piece of the Creator too - so how can you not love all that is and cherish it as if it was yourself? In hearing this, I am enlightened, empowered to move beyond my current state and like all masses of energy, evolve to the next higher vibration. I spend what feels like a lifetime living amongst these delightful teachers. Learning new lessons as I help with the daily chores. Sitting in the longhouse at night talking with the wisest of the men and women. Seeing into myself and understanding what I am and what I was meant to do. The hardest part is the waking up from these dreams and realizing I am in Worland, WY and it's the year 2009. I want to go back so badly.

But, I need to be here and continue to grow, and as I grow to assist whomever crosses my path to evolve to their next higher vibration level. To share the Teaching Stories. To learn new ones. This is the task of the Blue Grass Man - to prepare the sacred way for all my relations. To help all who seek it to become. As we are all one family, one Creator is prayed to in countless ways. All positive energy must be balanced by equal negative energy. It is up to each one of us to decide how we are going to deal with our personal energies.

My brothers and sisters, may Great Spirit walk with you always and bless and guide you.

Until Part 2.

Thank you my brother. Part two will be posted this evening - I have most of it formulated in my mind but need a little more time to focus it into the written word.

Blessings Jon Greywolf! At last i feel i have found the 'mentor', 'wise one', 'being' i have searched for many years. I have no idea where my fascination with your culture and Shamanism has come from but it is there and very powerful. Earlier in a post i wrote of how i had felt a 'pull' toward it for many years but (apart from reading the odd book/words on the net) i had not yet acted on it but felt that the time was now....then i read your page!!!! I am lost for words.......apart from i know i read your page for a reason.......
I am unsure how you feel about mentoring someone, let alone someone that knows so little of your culture,to think of me as a 'clean slate' would be appropriate and i personally think of this as a positive way to be if i am to truly learn from you without bias.....I would like to hear your thoughts on this.
I meditate to Sacred Spirit and it takes me to a place where few other meditations have yet to take me i also have an old cassette tape
