About Me:
While I am interested in networking and making new friends, I am not interested in using this as a dating service because i am skeptical of the functionality of Internet relationships. Also, while I do value the friendships I have here, understand that I am not keen on updating my site every hour and keeping up with every little thing.

I hope to use this site as something of an educational resource, so feel free to check out the links I post, videos, blog entries and the like. I hope you find my page entertaining and informative.

I am in a rather frustrating spot in my life now. I'm sorry. I'm afraid I'm rather boring as people go, not that impressive. I am a college student who works on campus. I am interested in many things that fall under the category of “geeky” such as science fiction, fantasy, computers and so fourth. I am also a huge fan of heavy metal, particularly folk metal and Viking metal.

The music on my page is meant to be something of a sampling of Heathen music as well as a sampling of folk music from cultures I'm interested in.

In case you are wondering, I am not a racist. Sometimes those of us interested in ancient Northern European beliefs get unfairly branded due to the actions of a few whom I strongly disagree with. It's similar to perfectly fine people who are Christians getting lumped into the same group as those who bomb abortion clinics, but most people don't do that because Christianity is more mainstream and therefore more widely understood. That's why I link to the things I do, so people have a better understanding of what Germanic people believed and did. I hope you enjoy my page.

Other Beliefs/Practices
Get ready for a geography lesson.

Heathen/ Asatru: This means I believe in the Germanic pantheon. You've heard of Odin, Thor and Freya, I expect. Well, those are a few of the gods of that pantheon.

Forn Sed (or the old custom): I do not yet consider myself a believer in the "old customs" of Sweden, however this a very strong interest of mine. My first language is English, so if you can find good sources in English, please pass them my way!

I feel ties to Iceland and Sweden although I'm not sure why. I've just started learning Swedish.

Romuva: This is Lithuanian paganism. in case you don't know, Lithuania is in the Baltic region just under Latvia. It used to be Prussia. Perkonas (there are other spellings) is the god of thunder and lightning in this pantheon, to name an example, and Giltine is the goddess of death. In spite of Christian influence, traditional beliefs from this area have managed to survive fairly unsaved unlike many other branches of paganism.

Vilturj: If I don't need to tell you about this, send me a PM! I want to hound you for information. I was (re) introduced to this path from a person who has family in the southern Kola Peninsula. If you know where Finland is, it's just east of Finland. It juts out from the top of Finland and is part of Russia.

Slavic: Here I am referring to pagan beliefs from counties like Poland, Ukraine, Russia and so on. Granted, grouping all these beliefs together becomes a giant clusterfuck. While there are similar beliefs, often times they differ according to county or even village. Also keep in mind that many sources we have about the mythology and folk lore were written by Christians who sometimes tried to force Slavic beliefs into a classical Greek context, so our information can become rather muddled. Perun is the god of thunder and lighting in this pantheon. Another god is Chernobog, the black god, god of the underworld, chaos and night.

I also seem to have influences from other parts of the world, and I am also interested in Finnish paganism considering the county's location and that their beliefs often mix with those from outside their borders.

Satanism: I am not a Satanist, however, I have a high respect for Satanism (in general) and am influenced by Satanic philosophies. I find them practical in terms of working with my own mind and developing myself. I also see allot of self responsibility and self honesty in Satanists that I admire and believe would behoove us all.
