Astrological Sign
About Me:
I'm a hedge witch in training!

I love to cook and play in the garden (if I only had more time....). I spend 40 hours a week working as a domestic violence advocate. I spend lots of time meditating and find that I am more psychic tactilely (I think the spelling is wrong....) than anything else.

I'm an environmentalist, a localvore, and a communitarian. And I think thats all the labels I'm going to put on myself at that point.

If you want to know more about me, I'm friendly and I love to talk, so pop me an e-mail at or just message me!
Favorite Books
Bowling Alone, Robert Putnam

I pretty much read everything about wicca and paganism I can get my hands on. And now that the gardening season back, I'm reading about that all the time.

Currently, I'm reading Silver Ravenwolf. I know, I know... I like her writing, dammit! I think its not a good thing to put a ready made "teen witch kit" into any preteen with 40 bucks' hands and I really lost a lot of respect for her when I found out about that. But I'm learning like crazy out here and the more books, the better, even if the author is irresponsible and greedy.
Beliefs / Practices
Pagan, Witch, Wiccan
Other Beliefs/Practices
My ultimate goal is enlightenment.

I believe in peak oil (and that is some scary shit), I believe in relationships based off of equality and respect, I believe in the power of community. I believe in myself.
Gardening (have I mentioned that yet?), Hunting Avocados, earth activism.

I'm also just sort of creating my life now that I'm out of college and am living 500 miles from all my friends and family.
I've got an HPS that I look up to. But I've never really been one for heros.

I think MLK jr and Emma Goldman were really cool people. Mother Jones was pretty damn cool too, now that I'm thinking about it.
How did you find PaganSpace?
I heard about it on some vlog I was watching on YouTube.

Does this happen to anyone else?

Well, I'm coming up to my year and a day. I'm thinking about doing a dedication ceremony- in the Scott Cunningham style- although I don't really describe myself as a solitary witch. I plan on training for initiation into a coven soon- I just gotta work up the courage to ask.

Well anyway- I would rather read and study about Wicca and magic than go to work. To the point where I don't go to work. Luckily, I have a flexible work schedule and I work away from the office many days out of… Continue

Heartland Pagan Festival!!

Wow. Thats all I can really say.

My first festival ever! I was a little startled by all the boobs and penises I saw at first, but after seeing so many the weirdness wears off.

The first thing I noticed was that I was way under (or maybe over?) dressed. People were running around in fairy costumes, sarongs, nothing- and I had jeans and t-shirts. I did bring my sarong, but was surprised to see that I would end up fitting in! I bought a fairy dress the first… Continue

I try to meditate each day.

But I have a problem. I loose focus and start dreaming. I don't think I'm sleeping, because I'm mostly conscious, but I'm not really in control either. Sometimes I can bring my awareness back to what I was doing, but usually, I loose it again.

And I don't remember what I was dreaming so well. Last night, there was a grandmother figure giving me food, but thats all I remember.

I don't know if I'm actually falling asleep, or if I'm… Continue

So here's the first one

Posted on May 10, 2008 at 12:03pm 0 Comments

So I don't have more than a minute to type, since I promised myself I would go out in the garden for an hour at 11.

Today I'm going to put the tomatoes I bought at the farmer's market into the garden. They were like a foot high and only a dollar! Buying local makes economic sense too!

If I have time, I'll plant those sunflowers and corn that have been waiting for me to sow.

My theory of gardening is this: I plant when I can, dammit!

Its been raining… Continue
