About Me:
Hello everyone,

Well I think I've always been pagan, as far as my views and interpretations of the world. Though it wasn't until 2003 that I finally started to look into wicca, and paganism in general. I liked what I found and have been trying to find out more whenever I can.

I haven't devoted myself as much as I'd like to in the years since and there's a LOT for me to learn yet, but I am on a journey and doing what I can to progress along it. All for understanding and enlightenment, as corny as that may sound.

I hope I can make a genuine friend or two--which seems difficult for me online, since I tend to be lax about checking up on sites regularly--and perhaps even find a person or three to learn from, since I'm quite solo right now.

For me to progress further in my understanding I know a change must be made in my life. I'm hoping I make it the right change.

You are The Hermit

Prudence, Caution, Deliberation.

The Hermit points to all things hidden, such as knowledge and inspiration, hidden enemies. The illumination is from within, and retirement from participation in current events.

The Hermit is a card of introspection, analysis and, well, virginity. You do not desire to socialize; the card indicates, instead, a desire for peace and solitude. You prefer to take the time to think, organize, ruminate, take stock. There may be feelings of frustration and discontent but these feelings eventually lead to enlightenment, illumination, clarity.

The Hermit represents a wise, inspirational person, friend, teacher, therapist. This a person who can shine a light on things that were previously mysterious and confusing.

Other Beliefs/Practices
I have a habit of finding simple, versatile interpretations of limited complex views.

So, I believe in spirits--I'd have to be brain dead at this point in my life not to have at least noticed them.
I believe they exist in a parallel dimension to our own--one that overlaps our world. That makes more sense to me rationally than a specified location far above the earth that all "ghosts" go to.

I think that the 'magic' in the various pagan religions is a result of extensive study and insight through years of previous generation long past. It's an outgrowth of understanding how life, mind, body and soul interact with the world. But the spirits have similar understandings, perhaps (I suspect) better because they may have a far more time and freedom to pursue such things. And they use those understandings to influence their world as well as ours.

This line of thought leads me to suspect that Gods and Goddesses are those who have attained profound and immense insights into the workings of their world and ours.

Also, I've come to believe in a sort of animism (as I understand the word), where all things have some sort of spiritual energy, and thus all things have an influence on the world around them (beyond the obvious things we can see). These various spirits may well be the fae folk. Since I think this spiritual energy can be considered life, and I believe in karma, I've tried to show more respect to all the things around me. Easier said than done, though, sometimes.

It should be noted that these are all flexible views of mine that I'm willing to alter based on my observations and reasoning. And I won't push them on anyone.
Video Games
Playing bass guitar (infrequently)

And I'd like to do more biking or hanging out in nature if I had a friend who wasn't more interested in TV and the Internet
People who keep their heads and think for their self when many others are acting crazy or stupid.

Anyone willing to make a change for the better.
How did you find PaganSpace?
I found PaganSpace just by browsing around looking for some sort of pagan community to learn from and hopefully join.

The Witches' Village -- an idea

Posted on September 26, 2010 at 6:48am 2 Comments

So I've had this idea kicking around in my head for a while. It's an idea that has formed partly because of my dissatisfaction with how things currently operate.

I don't think that the industrial and commercial machines of our society are really beneficial to humanity as a whole. But…

What's the Deal with Vampires?

Posted on August 25, 2009 at 2:03am 6 Comments

I didn't mean to sound all Jerry Seinfeld, but I don't get vampires. I mean, they just don't interest me as much as so many other people. Werewolves, though, seem more intriguing. But let's elaborate:

==== Vampires ====

From a story telling perspective, vampires seem fairly limited to me. They have to avoid the daylight hours usually, or the author comes up with some exception that in some cases borders on the ridiculous. This leaves the author trying to camouflage… Continue
