Well, my name is Lena and I was born and raised in Albany, NY. I lived in Fayetteville, NC for 6 years and moved back upstate 2 years ago now.
My name RedFlameOfLight does have significance:
Red because I'm a natural redhead.
Flame because I'm a Fire Sign.
Light because that is what my name (Lena) means.
All in all, I'm a very fiery girl with a lot of spirit and a lot of love. I love people and I can get along with most anyone. I like to try new things and I'm quite open-minded. I'm pretty versatile in everything I do I suppose. I like to meet new people and expand my mind with new knowledge. I'm a very curious person, I like to know the "why's" and "how's" of things. I am very honest and don't tolerate lies well at all. I have a difficult time dealing with change too, I can be pretty stubborn.
I love the warmth, the ocean, the South in general.... I miss it terribly.
I haven't adjusted well to the cold back here in NY.
Beliefs / Practices
I believe that everything happens for a reason. I have been in 4 different covens in NC. My first coven was Enchanted Winds and that's where my journey really began in 2001, although I had read books and done some things on my own before that while I was in high school. My High Priestess was Dianic and her husband was the High Priest. My second coven was called Sacred Birch, more Shaman/Native American driven and was branched off of our first coven after our High Priestess moved. My 3rd coven was another branch off because of politics our coven divided and went their separate ways. Our 3rd coven was named Obsidian Mandala and was more Ecclectic. The 4th coven was really more of what we called a "Groven", a combination of several covens that made up most of our local community and we were involved in that while in our own separate coven.
It's sad but politics, gossip, and perhaps even jealousy put a wedge between everyone and tore the community apart.
I have found that when solo I'm not really self-disciplined, which is something I need to work on.
I am interested in many things and curious about a lot of stuff.
I love to learn and am very open-minded.
I don't think one religion or belief system is the right way, I believe they all lead to the same place and all of them seem to have an underlying set of values in common. Each person is entitled to call it what they will if that is what makes them happy and if that is the path they wish to follow. As long as you harm none I don't care if you are Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Buddist, Pagan or any other faith you may proclaim. In fact, I welcome the knowlege and wisdom you bring to the table because we all have something to teach and we should all be willing to learn.
~Open hearts & open minds~
I like to hike, scrapbook, make dream catchers, play in the ocean, travel, use chopsticks, eat sushi and anything spicy, I like to play pool, I'm learning to play darts, listen to music, go to concerts and shows, I have an accoustic guitar that I want to learn to play, playing with my nephew, watching thunderstorms, collecting cobalt blue glass, writing in my journal and lots of other things I'm sure that I can't remember right now, lol...
How did you find PaganSpace?
My best friend Chris referred me and demanded that I join, haha...
