About Me:
Wicca and witchcraft have been around me all of my life and it has taken until my late 20s to realize that it was the path for me. My earliest memory of anything related to witchcraft was of when I was around nine years old. Mom told me that witches are at their strongest power on Halloween. That naturally scared me for years. I would picture the Hollywood image of what a witch was and be afraid of Halloween, thinking of what demonic things all of those witches must be doing that night.

Years later, I became friends with a Wiccan in high school. He told me a little about his beliefs and I always thought it was interesting. I was happy with the religion I had at the time, so I put off thinking about it for another few years. Through those years, Wicca was brought up in conversations all around me.

In 2009, I began to studied new age stuff and bought the Scott Cunningham classic "Wicca for the Solitary Practioner". Put that book away and later in the year I began to date a girl who revealed that she, in fact, was a witch herself. During that time, I began to really delve into reading about Wicca. I had to study on my own, mainly because my then girlfriend was a really reluctant person who didn't want to teach. We ended up having different perceptions on the subject anyway. The more I read, the more I really related to what I was reading. I consumed the books because they all really spoke to me.

A few months after I had started to read, I decided to perform a self dedication ritual to the Goddess and God because I knew that I had found home. I made a pledge to study Wicca for the rest of my life and would always continue to do so. After the ritual, a group of black birds landed on my outdoor altar where I did it (a foreshadowing of the future).

Well, as a couple, we two parted but my dedication to Wicca and to the Goddess and God continued to grow and continues to do so. Almost a year later, I found a coven and became intiated into the Circle of Ravens (black birds on the altar mentioned earlier) coven. I feel more at home than ever now. I have a wonderful coven and I am growing more and more spiritually every day. I was even given a glimpse of the Goddess and God during meditation one day. I have also been gifted in the divination tool of Tarot. I am still growing and have much to learn, but I am so looking forward to what is to come!!

A Fig Connection: Pagan Moment

Posted on July 27, 2011 at 2:27pm 0 Comments

While eating figs off of a fig tree outside of my home, I began to be overcome with a feeling of connection with the plant. It is the first time I have ever felt this...interesting experience.

Merry meet Steve! Thanks for being so welcoming. I hope we do the meet-up soon! I was worried I'd be the only wiccan in north georgia. Glad to see I had nothing to worry about!
